Downloading of drama series, although technically not legal, is sort of in a gray area as far as licensing goes. The industry has made it very clear, though, that theatrical releases (movies) and music are a definite no-no, so don't expect to see them offered up here any time soon. A little searchin...

My Japanese friends don't watch either. They are pretty in-tune with their culture and listen to J-music, but not into the dramas. They usually ask me what/who is popular in any given season.wmcnair370 wrote: Oh, and the Japanese friends I have are no where near as Japanese as me, and I am an Irish American.

Got a question on the EP1. On the first part of EP1, where the guy was dressed in all white look like he works at the club. And he helps the girl out with her heels. What does that have to do anything with the story?? Just to show how his life was before the accident that made him a genius. And, a ...

Wow, so much disdain for Aibu Saki. She is so adorable with those dimples. But, yeah, the acting leaves much to be desired. There are a lot of actors/actresses I dislike at first, then see them in a drama I like and change my mind. I couldn't stand Aya Ueto after Attention Please, but changed my min...

Definitely check out Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and Love Shuffle. Also, I agree, Orange Days isn't a comedy, but has some funny parts (I'm a little biased, though, because it's one of my favorite dramas). Two others I'd recommend are Sasaki Fusai no Jingi Naki Tatakai (more comedy than romance) and Around...

Love Generation is my choice. I expected a touching romantic story, but received the most primitive soap opera I ever saw. It looked like some Mexican telenovella from 80's and not the best one. Ridiculous plot, stupid and irritating characters and absolutely unbearable main actress. It was an awfu...

I suppose it's not fair to call something the worst drama ever if I didn't watch all of it, but the new JSOTW, Anna-san no Omame, is downright awful. Even the series' I didn't finish were given at least a full episode before they were shelved. I couldn't even make it to the halfway point of the firs...

So I finished the series last night. There were some pretty good episodes and I found it to be a likable series overall, but definitely not great. It felt a bit disjointed and I think they relied too much on guest appearances rather than a good flowing story to keep the ratings up. I was pretty disa...

In your situation, you're attempting to influence people to watch your favorite shows. This is the wrong approach! These people must discover the shows themselves. --- groink Yeah, I've learned. Not including the D-Addicts community, with whom do you share your love of Japanese entertainment? Family? Friends? School groups? Meet-up groups? What other outlets have you found to share this "hobby" outside of the electronic realm? I have a few friends that watch K-dramas on occasion, ...

There was an Asadora drama called Kokoro ( http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Kokoro ) about 5 or 6 years ago that aired in Los Angeles. I saw an episode near the later part of the series and got hooked. Japanese Entertainment Blogs
Does anyone know of any good Japanese drama/music blogs?
I think allkpop.com is really well done, but as the name suggests, it only focuses on Korean entertainment. I was hoping to find something of similar scope and quality for the Japanese entertainment industry.

I really started to like her after watching Around 40. Although it seems counter-intuitive, I'm finding that as I'm rapidly approaching my 30's, these older, more sophisticated actresses are gaining appeal. Most male dorama fans I know are drawn more to the younger idol types as they get older. I su...

The new Tohoshinki video for どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう? / Why did I fall in love with you? is floating around the Internet. I'm not a big Tohoshinki fan, but this song changed my view totally.
