I can definitely relate. I have spent years studying the Japanese language (even doing an immersion program) and I still miss a great deal if there aren't English subs. Still, I do think Japanese doramas are becoming more available and I remain optimistic that as more people see these doramas there ...

This looks really interesting! I ordered a copy of the movie and it will be interesting to compare the treatments of the book, and the way the actors interpret their roles I think. Does anyone know whether anyone is planning to provide eng subs for this television special? :-)
