I have seen this drama when it aired in the SF Bay area. It had English subs but that was during the VHS era, so if anyone has a copy, chances are it would be a TVrip on VHS.

I guess if you haven't seen the series at all, it might be better for you to do so, if you want to familiarize yourself with the characters. Since it's a theatrical release, I 'd assume the storyline is not dependant upon the series or the special. I know that it was partially filmed in South Korea....
