This is an old thread but I hope there are others who have watched this: I'm just starting the 2nd season and I'm wondering if they're going to talk about what happened between Du Xiao Yue and her fiance in the 1st season? Because at the end of the 1st season it seemed like they were getting ready t...

To me interracial relationships are a non-issue. I don't really care what people do on the own. As long as nothing is imposed on me then people can do whatever they want. Also, just because you're in an interracial relationship, doesn't mean you're not a racist. I've known plenty of racist people th...

I think for me, the key appeal of Hallyu has been how foreign investment and international sales has enabled Korean dramas to reach higher artistically. From the very first episode of The Legend, it's just so obvious that this benchmark-setting event (similar to what Damo was in 2003) could not hav...

I agree with Hanjae's sentiment that the wave isn't so much waning as it is becoming normalized. A lot of non-Korean Asians are now familiar with Korean entertainment and culture that it's now a part of their lifestyle. What I mean is, during the wave, most people were willing to watch anything that...

I've watched up to ep 4. It's very comic, but so far nothing special about it. Also I just don't see the main lead hooking up with the main female lead. The age gap in the story makes it a virtual social taboo in Korea. I think they'll hook up for sure...but they might use that X years later thing....

I'm thinking of watching this and was just wondering how the romance is in it? I didn't want to read to many spoilers so as I scanned these pages, it seems like the romance is a bit low key... is that the case? Also, I find it interesting that they used a Catholic nun instead of a Buddhist nun. I ca...

I visited Japan in Spring 2007 and had a local 32 year old woman act as a tour guide around Tokyo. I asked her if she watched J-dramas and she said no, that they were ridiculous and completely unrealistic in comparison to how Japanese life really is. I didn't really need her to tell me that, but it...

I would but only if he didn't try to convert me or force our children to be a certain religion. I'm a Taoist/Buddhist mix. I practice both religions in a way, but Taoism is stronger because it ties into my culture and customs (e.g. praying to past ancestors, burning "dead people" money, et...

Regarding dubbing dramas in Japan... The Japanese prefer their shows to be dubbed rather than subbed. Both Chinese and Korean dramas aired in Japan are usually dubbed in Japanese. Dubbing and Voice Actors

I was watching a behind-the-scenes video of My Bratty Princess and what surprised me was that they were even dubbing the voices of the actors that were speaking Mandarin! Do you have any other news on this? My Chinese isn't that good so I wasn't able to fully understand what's going on. Is it being filmed right now or are they done? Do you know when it's going to air?

Thanks!

What bugs me about Taiwanese dramas is the quality of acting. I find the way they "talk" is a bit awkward. It's like they overemphasize their pronunciation or something so the dialog just doesn't seem natural. When I watch HK dramas--which are dubbed in Mandarin--I feel that the dubbing/vo...
