Barairo no seisen [Eng Sub] (Complete)

Postby lissamae » Thu Sep 15, 2011 1:52 am

Thanks a lot to deearhunter for posting the last 3 episodes. They can be found on page 4 of the comments.

I will check to see if I should add them to this post.

And I want to add, I have gained an even HIGHER respect than ever for fansubbers, understanding Japanese and translating are two very different things! We are so lucky for them, I hope one day I will be at a level I can handle making subtitles for whole series!

Ep 3 is here. Sorry they aren't quick, but I said, this is my first time translating,
I was saved by Nalanzu's translation help, and of course thank you to kimutaku for making it look better!! And furransu for being the GOD of uploads!

Ep1 and 2 credits:
Original Japanese Subtitles and timing - furransu
Translation: lissamae
Translation Check - Nalanzu
Timing adjustment - kimutaku144

Ep3 credits:
Original Japanese Subtitles and timing - furransu
Translation: Nalanzu and lissamae
Timing adjustment - kimutaku144

The 6th and last episode will be broadcasted 9th October. Then, there will be "Ore no Sera : Keiji-hen".

Thank you for the translation.

Hi, thanks for subbing this drama. I'm really looking forward to it!

Also, can I please get permission to share your subs on the LJ communities Jdramas and asian_doramas? I will credit you and link back to this thread too.
Now watching: Too many to count. XD

I prefer they not be posted on LJ, etc. because A) I still am hoping to get additional help in checking the accuracy of them. and B) I made them for d-addicts and it's members. who share things with me, and also seed torrents.

WAAAAAAH!!! why you no upload!? This is among the top best series out there! The suspense is killing me, if you dropped this series, please tell me. I'd feel better knowing that there won't be anymore episodes, rather than having false hope.

I appreciate the fact you translated the first three though, it's better to have enjoyed than to have not enjoyed at all.

I appreciate drama subbing but I wonder why there is no way to track the status of some projects. I waited for weeks for this one to be finished. It would have been nice to know that it wasn't being continued a while ago

I guess the thing is there are several kinds of subbers, the occasional subber and the group that's maybe more focused and delivers regularly. we can't blame anyone but us, let's learn japanese and screw the subs :-)

Well honestly i was waiting patiently for the subs since when i tried to watch without them i understood about 70% of the content. That's how far i went with 4 months studying Japanese. I hope it's not dropped, it's a great show!

Yea, that is more motivation to learn Japanese. I love dramas and I appreciate subbers, but if I was going to sub a drama I would have the courtesy to give people updates about when something might be out like a simple time frame (enough of one for me to have a life and still stick to my word). If I quit altogether I would say that as well. It's not that big of a deal, but it seems like in the subbing culture you are not allowed to have any information or ask any questions and I never understood it because it leaves a lot of people hanging. Even though a person doesn't have to sub, does it really kill them to interact with the people they are subbing for a little bit more? I guess I'm just a different kind of person. I wouldn't make people wait for weeks without any word.

I've been helping the subber here in doing the re-timing of the subs. I just contacted her few days ago and she said she will continue subbing this series, hopefully releasing subs for one more episodes before end of year. I'm not trying to said I promise things on her behalf but I thought if I can just let you know what is her reply.

It is annoying to have unfinished subs, but like everyone in this world, the real world takes more priorities than hobbies. Even if people want to commit, circumstances can't always like we want to be.

Yea, I understand 100%. It is not like people are getting paid (although they should) but it's just that I wish there were easier ways to stay in contact with subbers so everyone knows what is going on. So far this has happened for about 5 dramas I am watching this year and all I can do is check the pages daily hoping to see an update, but there is no way to find more information on the subber or even to say thank you. Anyways, I appreciate the update and hope to see this series continued!

Though I also can understand that very wel, I really hope so bad, that the subs will continue. I quite liked the drama for the "fresh" idea and the subs were of good quality too.

At least someone tried to sub this series till the end . I have been waiting for the subs for ages. My Japanese isn't good enough to watch the episodes without subs in order to have full comprehension and English is also not my first language. Thanks so much for your effort. I was thinking of doing the same thing. It's greatly appreciated^^

removed the subs and have tried to contact lissamae about continuing with subbing the series.
I want to have permission to do so.
I am almost finished with episode 4 (completed within days) 5-6 still very raw. But better than before.

Barairo no Seisen eng subs

Postby deearhunter » Tue Mar 20, 2012 12:58 pm

Have sent ep4 to lissamae I'm about 97% done.
Starting now on ep 5 85% already done.
Ep 6 about 95% done.
All need extra translations.
They all need retiming and quality control, I do this for learning japanese not timing.
I didn't know it could be actually useful to watch thousands of anime episodes.
You really need someone else to read the subs I've noticed severe blindness for
my own errors, even letting it rest for a week is not enough.
Please remember it was here at d-addicts they were found first.

update

Postby deearhunter » Mon Mar 26, 2012 1:16 pm

99% of ep 5 translated 7 lines to go.Will let it rest for some time. 2012 03 30 100% of ep 5 ( was also fully recovered )
Starting with ep6 about 95% was already done. 90% done vista crashed not for the first time recovery point unreadable had to use an old copy
what sucks is I was about 98% done

Anyone feeling like quality checking and retiming is their forte? PLEASE PM MEE!
2012 04 04 episodes 5 and 6 now100% translated I'm back to episode 4.
2012 04 08 all episodes translated fully. Starting qc purplebunny101 offered to help
that's really appreciated so within 10-14 days I will start to publish the subs. Maybe sooner.
probably no retiming done, no one offered to help.
2012 04 10 some slight retiming done on all three episodes.

Subs ep 4-6 here?

Postby deearhunter » Sun Apr 08, 2012 2:29 pm

I dont know if a thread name could be edited or if lissamae would like to do it.
I think Barairo no seisen [Eng Sub] (ep. 1 to 6) would be best.
What do you think? too many threads makes a jumbled up forum.

Hello everyone, I'm going to be quality checking this drama. I'll try my best to get them in good enough for everyone to enjoy.

Also, I take it that everyone who is reading this has at least watched up to episode 3. Miki's husband's boss asks if miki is working and he lies and says no, is it against policy for both the the person and the spouse to work?

Subs editing

Postby deearhunter » Thu Apr 12, 2012 8:16 am

Hi there!
I'm waiting eagerly for the qc. Just sitting here and doing some flow editing.
So I thought You would like to know what I mean, see the following sentences and ponder:

There are things a woman should know.
A woman has things she ought to know.
There are things that should be known by a woman.

the choise is depending upon the original japanese sentence where the key word onna
could be placed at different positions.
Not a very good example but...... This often bugs me when watching anime and drama
the translations (sometimes) are very stiff and unnatural they have no flow.

Barairo no Seisen ep. 4 - 6 subs

Postby deearhunter » Sat Apr 14, 2012 7:43 pm

Finally they are here the subs for the 3 last chapters of this wonderful series.
With permissions from those involved.
" Makoto suki desu " for more than 2 months I've lived in the Barairo no Seisen universe
and it's time to finally leave it. purplebunny101 unfortunately got overwhelmed by the magnitude of work involved
but at least tried, more than you can say about all of you others.
But I've been a leech for a long time so I understand, everybody wants it for free but there is
no free lunches. Sometime you have to cooperate and help others.
Please please please no uploading to streaming sites.
Let it be here at d-addicts that they are found first.
thanks to furransu for the work with getting hold of the original japanese subs.
Note:
You may use these subs for translation to another language (ep 4-6)
no need to ask me permission.
Feel free to retime and do qc on those three episodes if you want to. Thats why I prefer srt subs.
And dont be a skunk give credits to those involved.
