ROMES [Japanese Subs] (Complete)

Postby qop123 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:42 am

Hello, :roll

I'm uploading the Japanese subs for ROMES.

These subs were extracted from the original broadcast data with a program called "Caption2Ass_mod1".

Checked with the 1280x720 version.

(To display Japanese subs on Windows, East Asian Language needs to have been installed, and at the options of the player, a Japanese or Unicode font needs to be selected.)

Japanese subtitles now seem to be working, at least on MacOS

I tried a few different settings, and now can see the Japanese subtitles fine (at least for ep01 -- waiting to copy the other episodes across a slow network connection).

This success is with VLC 0.9.10 on Mac OS 10.4.11 (Intel). I'm still having problems
with the Japanese subtitles using VLC 1.0.3 on Debian GNU/Linux (x86) and also on
PPC Mac. But at least I can get by watching on the Intel Mac.

From marcie.

When you said you try everything, what did you try?

1) Did you try to rename the subtitle file? Because some media player need the subtitle filename to be same before .srt. So if the video is name 'episode01.avi', the subtitle file should name ''. The '' will not work for some media player.

2) Do your computer support or have a Japanese/International font install? On Windows XP, you have to enable East Asia language support and then select Japanese character set. Else you can download the unicode font set that includes the Japanese character set.

3) Some media players don't have subtitle overlay built-in. While VLC has the subtitle overlay built-in, the quality is less than desire. So download CCCP or K-Lite codec pack.

Anyway, I am running Windows 7 with K-lite standard pack that includes MPC. It plays the Japanese subtitle with no problem on the default setting. Didn't do any special setup on Windows 7 neither.
