Thanks for the subs.

FYI, I checked this sub against the one that was rip from DC hardsub. When I compare the subs side by side, I can tell they were done by two different people. Actually, I think the DC sub was re-translated from a Chinese or Korean translation.
Please do not PM me about seeding any of my old torrents, as most of files that had uploaded are no longer on my computer.

Thank you so much for subbing this drama. I thought I would have to abandon this drama at first since only a certain stream site is subbing it and I refuse to watch anything that come from their dirty lil' hands.

So thank you very much for picking up this drama.

While I get you are trying to defend your work... saying such a thing actually has the opposite effect. That was basically like saying, "Nope, our translators just suck at Japanese." Where as you can be an excellent Chinese or Korean translator but still produce very inaccurate subs do to errors in the subtitles you are translating from. If you are translating from the original language it's your own failings that created any inaccuracies.

Errors in the subs you are translating from = errors in your subs = not really your fault.

Errors in your subs when working from the original = all your fault.

Honestly, I don't know Japanese, so I can't really complain. I'm personally just grateful that someone would spend hours translating something, even if he/she isn't the best at Japanese. If you think our subs aren't that good, wait for Agape's subs.
I think we should just be greatful that people who work hard for no gain, exist. Keep up all the good work Fansubbers.

Also, sorry Agape, for going off topic on your thread.

I wasn't saying I have looked at either files or even plan to watch this show or not.
I was simply stating, that as someone reading the thread, you saying such a thing in defense of your work casts a negative tint to your work that you probably don't intend to do. I'm not trying to be mean or say your subs suck. I've honestly never seen anything you've released so I can't judge you. I'm expressing how what you say would be interpreted by someone who wouldn't know better.

Basically, as a browser trying to decide what to watch... seeing someone say, "oh this looks like they translated from csubs" and having you come back saying, "no we didn't" is a sudden turn off to all of your projects. It instantly makes someone wonder how long the translators have even been learning Japanese. Especially since, as a fansubber myself, I am constantly getting people who have been studying a language for a couple months thinking they can actually translate more than basic phrases.

So please stop the, "OMG she's picking on me!"
I was trying to being helpful by saying maybe you should think before responding to people since most of your posts of late have been a bit rude and poorly thought out.
So, I actually went to see what this show was about. This sounds so weird. Yakuza + old folks? The cast sounds quite interesting though.

j/k.
Well I see what you're saying and regardless of what my response is , people would still rather see the version no one bashes. That being said, imo our subs were bashed purely because it was subbed by DC. Other than the normal trolling idiots, no one usually says your subs suck to a fansubber. Normally, you just get people who say thanks. Anyhow, thats my take on it. People are free to watch whoever's subs they want. The show is really good and I would recommend it to everyone..
While I don't think Puppet Princess was rude AT ALL. I don't see how, your subs look like they are translated from chinese/korean subs is constructive at all.
Constructive would be saying you should change this, this, and this so that your subs are better.
Anyhow, let's stop going off topiic on this thread. This threadi s for Agape's translations, not about DC's.

^Maybe what the original person who said "DC subs look like they are translated from chinese/korean subs" mean the phrasing is awkward or there are inaccuracies. I'm just guessing but maybe you guys can buck up at that department if you want to improve. Usually people can guess what's wrong with your subs with just a simple critique like that. At least people aren't flat out saying "DC SUCKS!" without any hint of why.
Stop trying to be a victim please.

Thanks Agape for the subs. I'm kinda looking forward to more soft-rip of DC subs so I can compare :)

Thank you so much!

I do have one comment:
I have a number of friends who work in adult care services, and the people who live in these homes are called "residents" not "members." It may be different in Japanese, but that's how it is in English

I just thought you might like to know; I apologize if I seemed rude.

Ecrivon, I appreciate your feedback. Actually I didn't want to use the term "members" but in this drama there are some elderly that do not reside in the care center but use their "day service". And in order to include them all they use the term "members" instead of "residents". But let me consider this in the next episode. If you or anyone has a better word than "members" then please also let me know.

Once again I really appreciate your comment.

Also wanted to extend my thanks to everyone that posted words of encouragement.
It keeps me going!

Just an idea regarding the term used for elderly persons who are staying at home and who are "only" visited to help them. As far as I know the term used for such persons is "client". I'm not sure if this is a matching word for the japanese term but since there is a contract between the care center and the person it might be an appropriate word here.

Hope this comment was helpful since I really enjoy this show and I'm very thankful for your fast and accurate translation. :salut:

Update2: ep03 has been uploaded. Meisa rock's!!! (Let me know if anyone catches the Mahjong 'hand' that Hikoichi loses to at the Mahjong bar.)

Hikoichi lost the hand when he threw away the "Haku" (White Dragon) and the guy called "Ron" (when a player wins by taking a tile cast off by another player). His opponent called "Haku-Nage" and won the hand.
