Tolgacan, NHK BS2 didn't work because both BS hi and BS2 are merged into one HD channel called NHK BS Premium.

I'm not a java expert, but I believe you need to edit this part:

localObject = new String[] { "cmd.exe", "/c", "start", "wmplayer", localObject };

in the o.class file under zParki so that it opens a relevant player in OS X (like vlc).

hope this helps!

It seems I can't install NKTV. Whenever I download the software on their website, I get a jnlp file instead of exe. Can anybody help me, please?

You need to make sure you have Java installed. Once you've done that, double click and it'll load up. You don't install NTKTV, you just run it in conjunction with Java and WMP.

Hi there, long time reader and first time poster.

For some reason when i open each of these, for example, under the Kanto folder, on TV TOKYO, once open in Java, all i get is 2ch NHK and nothing else shows.

Is there anything i really need to do to get any other channels to work?

Every one of them show this;

This is a massive thread, i figured it out after a while, too bad it isnt all live TV.
I've been checking some of the live attachments, the quality is generally lacking..

Still love what you guys have done :)

JPTV24 turned off their service for the Kansai channels, CS channels, Tokyo MX, Star Channel and WOWOW so those channels are probably not coming back, since NTKTV is basically a recording of JPTV24 streams. No idea why BS channels also stopped updating, but since they don't update files on their server I can't do anything about it.

I don't know of any programs for japanese tv on iOS but I tested the above links for you on an application called GoodPlayer (supports URL streaming) and they worked for me, some pics from my iPhone:

I've had a go at this. It points to existing Sopcast streams of:

TV Asahi
Tokyo TV
NHK BS-1
TBS

However, those Sopcast streams are not published on in the channels list on Sopcast, so this app is a way of getting to them

Depending of your location one server may work better than the other (or both are gonna suck), here 125.xx pushes a smooth stream for most channels (except Fuji isn't working at all), but those aren't meant to be used without jptv24/ppcast p2p application.

None of these is MX, jptv24 isn't streaming this channel anymore.

Hi,

Am I the only one who has been having trouble accessing the NTKTV channels posted by polochon233? I was using them every day for quite a while, but all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago they stopped. What happens now is that while all the Kanto channels still show up with their up-to-date hourly slots, when I double-click on any hour, nothing happens--the buffer remains at 0%, and after awhile the "tensou chuudan" message shows up and the program freezes up. Have I missed something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanx, Ikatabam

Just tried NTK on my netbook and it works! So there's something about my main computer that's screwing it up. Weird! --Ikatabam

I'd also appreciate a tutorial. I have no idea what to do with a jar file. Anyone know a good tutorial?

Just double-click on the .jar file of the channel you want. In the box that opens up, double click on "2ch NHK 教育". This will open up a list of hourly recordings of that channel for the past week. Double click on the hour you want and it should open up in an appropriate video viewer (it will be an .asf file). You can also download the fully-buffered file to your hard drive if you can find where it's being temporarily stored. --Ikatakam

Thanks! I guess I must have clicked on ones without any files before. I tried again randomly, and it works like a charm.

Is there any way to have continuous playback of ntktv? Instead of having to select a new stream after every hour?

Edit: Like maybe it might be possible to create a playlist on WMP or VLC and it would contain the streams for whatever show you choose, and it would simple play one, then after that move onto the next stream...

Ikatabam wrote:Hi,

Am I the only one who has been having trouble accessing the NTKTV channels posted by polochon233? I was using them every day for quite a while, but all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago they stopped. What happens now is that while all the Kanto channels still show up with their up-to-date hourly slots, when I double-click on any hour, nothing happens--the buffer remains at 0%, and after awhile the "tensou chuudan" message shows up and the program freezes up. Have I missed something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanx, Ikatabam

I downloaded the re-up from this post and it's working fine for me.
