Shimokita Sundays [Eng Subs] (Ep 5-6)[DROPPED]

Postby freefallrlc » Thu Feb 15, 2007 11:17 am

I got some eng subs finished for the Shimokita Sundays Raws.
Suteki was originally subbing them. I hope I´m interferring here but I think they dropped the project as there wasn´t anything to hear for months now...

Here are subs for episodes 5 and 6. I´ll post the rest here as well as I finish them

ep. 5:

GREAT NEWS TODAY - THANKS A LOT

Anyway Suteki were using hardsubs and you are proposing soft subs so I don't think there is a problem at all.

Thanks again, but I hope someone will seed again episode 5 to the end as the subs are coming.

Hmmm...you should ask one of the members of Suteki fansub group (through PM) first since the project hasn't been dropped from what they posted here about one month ago --> http://community.livejournal.com/su_teki

If the group approves of you putting up the subs, then make sure to tell the moderators that you and the group have agreed to allow the subs to be posted here since the moderators may remove the subs without notice.

Why do I mention all of this stuff? Look here --> http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23775 (read the second paragraph under the section called "Competition/multiple groups working on a project")
D-Addicts is like a library: Most of the resources are there, you just have to search around!

Even with Suteki's permission to softsub, rules are that you must start from episode 1. This same exact thing has happened with Kurosagi. The mods may let it slide though. They were gonna allow the Kurosagi incident to slide but too many people were complaining.

i'm not aware of the history behind who is working on what, so for the time being, i'm simply editing the title.

OK, I´ll try to ask suteki later. Well, they were doing hardsubs and these are softsubs.
I just thought they might have dropped Shimokita SUndays as nothing happened for months and people might like to watch the rest from what has been subbed till now.

I think it should be the other way around. I think multiple group doing hardsub is okay. HYD2 has SARS and Nya both working on em independently. Both are great and established fansubbers. Need my help for encoding, please PM me.

Well, I didn´t contact suteki yet :fight: but I saw on their site that they posted that they didn´t drop Shimokita Sundays. Well, after allI think it´s nearly 6 months ago since the last episode came out.
And maybe it´s no problem after all because they got the hardsubbed version and mine are softsubs?

rules are that yu can't skip any episodes. in a previous situation similar to this, the softsubbers were told by moderators to complete the first episodes before continuing on. however, i'm not a moderator so I won't try to enforce this, or rather "complain" about this, any more than I already have. I seem to be the only one bothered by this. I really do strongly suggest that Suteki be informed about these softsubs. If they are too busy to quickly get their hardsubs done, they are probably also too busy to have noticed these softsubs and voice their opinions on it.

whether it's a rule or not - i guess it's polite to talk with suteki's members about it.

I was very excited to discover soft subs for Shimokita Sundays. It had been so many months since a release from the suteki group that I thought that I would never be able to see any more of this show.

freefallrlc -- please accept my thanks, and please continue to post any subs that you have time to complete. I'm sorry that several people could only offer criticism. Those of us who depend on these subs wish that those people would volunteer to help instead.

Most of us following this thread have seen the first four episodes, and appreciate the opportunity to continue. Perhaps those people who feel strongly about soft subs for the first four episodes could help with those while freefallric is trying to complete the final episodes.

It must be very hard for someone to work in the face of unexpected and unneeded criticism. The only appropriate response to anyone posting subtitles has always been a simple thank you, and I would like to see that tradition continue.

Again, freefallric, thank you for your hard work.

Is there a problem with pointing out that she broke the rules? Setting rules aside, is it wrong to point out that it's polite to inform a fansubbing group that you are doing the same project as them or building off their work? It's not as if we attacked her. We merely made some needed suggestions.

InTr4nceWeTrust -- I understand that you are concerned with rules and politeness, and I didn't meant to imply that anyone had attacked freefallrlc. But my concern, as a viewer, was that any kind of negative posts might cause freefallrlc to lose interest in sharing subtitles with us. That's why I would simply like to say thanks to freefallrlc, and thanks, as well, to Suteki for the episodes that they have completed.

OK, I just send suteki a mail about this. Sorry that I didn´t earlier but I had a lot of work lately.
I know about the rules not to sub anything another group is working on and to start a project from episode 1. But as it was completely unsure if the rest would ever be finished subbing and there are probably a lot of fans out there who would love to see the end, I thought it´d be a good idea to post the eng. softsubs (not even interfering with the hardsubbed version suteki does) when I got hands on a translation.
I can make subs for the first episodes as well but I think it´s more interesting to get the unfinished episodes subbed before doing already subbed ones.

no need to apologize. just wanted to make sure yu won't run into any trouble with them later on. sorry if i'm sounding authoritative or something. while it's against the rules, if suteki has no problem with yu having started where they left off, then i'd say go ahead finish the last episodes before doing the first ones. if suteki has issues with starting off where they left off (or with all the softsubs), then i guess yu'll have to do the first few episodes first before yu continue finishing the series.

freefallrlc, you truly are a terrific person. :)

It has been around 5 months since the last episode of Shimokita Sundays, I thought I would never get a chance to watch more. I really wish there were more jdrama fansubbers, as timely releases for these "lesser" shows are so rare compared to bigger ones like Hana Yori Dango.

Well i think that this is great. I know the rules are set in place for a reason, but if Suteki is worried about it then, why dont they just ask freefallric to help them work on it, since it seems they are having a little problem.

If you want the subs real badly, why don't you go to http://www.rlcsbestside.de/ and check out the blog? There are episodes 8 and 9 already available on the blog.

I've just noticed that the torrents for episode 7 and 8 for RAW have no seeds in this website. I was about to download this week the episodes I was lacking, to watch them with the softsubs, but two of them have no seeds, I guess I won't be the only one requesting for seed, so I first post it here in case someone who's gonna have this softsubs can help seeding.

For some reason i cannot download the srt files thruogh megaupload. Something to do with download slots limitations on my country. It is just some stupid scam to download megaupload's toolbar. Can someone please upload the subs (6-9) here or in YouSendIt or rapid share. I would really appreciate it :)

shimokita sundays ep1-4 softsub

Postby cloudteriff » Tue May 29, 2007 7:31 am

I know that there are the hardsub version but the files is not seeded. I have downloaded all the RAW version long time ago already but no sub for it :-(
I'll try my luck on the hardsub version then.

Thank you for reply.

I'm just posting the subs from the rapidshare site posted by TIticamara. I really hate putting subs on temporary download sites as they often time out (see pg1)
I hope there isn't a reason nobody posted the subs here on d-addicts.
If so I'll remove them l8er.

Note: weird, I almost posted the wrong subs (all my subs except 9 were actually for "Shimokita Glory Days" but named incorrectly)
I am just re-posting these subs from TIticamara's rapidshare link.
I of course had nothing to do with their creation and make no claim to these subs whatsoever.

I of course had nothing to do with their creation and make no claim to these subs whatsoever.

thank you!!

Thanks!

I know hardsubs are out there, but personally I prefer softsubs. Will softsubs for the first 4 episodes be released? I have seen people on other sites claiming they have subs for all episodes, but maybe they are confusing it with the hardsubs?

I'm a video quality HD-addict and I know the 720p raws are out there, so would be nice if there were softsubs for the whole series :)
