Thanks for posting the subs and torrents here. I've been thru some of the 90+ pages at Soompi but did not find the posts with the subs ... so I appreciate that you have added them here. DAddicts is a much easier forum to navigate.

I'm looking forward to the rest. Watched ep 1 last night and am trying to hold off on the rest until subs are available .... Ju Jin Mo happens to be a favorite of mine. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

ho ho ho~ the translators are females... and they are just translating episodes they enjoy first.. ho ho ho~

i'm sorry the episodes skipped.. cos i was really taken by ep 8 and requested for the translator to sub ep 8 before all the rest of the episodes and she agreed since we were both in love with that episode..

as for the progress.. i understand that ep 3 is being translated by queer, and episode 7 too..

this is going to be a long series, please understand that subbing takes alot of effort, time and energy.. and we must understand that these translators may not finish translating the whole series as each have their own personal lives..just be thankful that they have took on some episodes of this series... :)

there are currently only 2 traslators and 1 timer for this series.. if anyone would volunteer to help translate and time.. then we might be able to get the whole series subbed.

wow that clear things up.
just fyi, i am not complaining just kinda weird since most of the time it release 1->2->3 and etc. I guess it is still ok since I usually download from clubbox.

BTW STILL THANKS FOR THE EFFORT. :lol

solitaire: I am not korean too and can't read korean at all and still able to download from clubbox. I really like the way to get KDrama easier to get than other drama since most of KDrama and KMovie at clubbox. PLus clubbox speed is really stable at 50k/sec or more if u download a lot and accumulate mileage (like me running 3 computer 24/7 downloading and accumulating mileage 8) ), you can download faster than 50k/sec.

Please ... don't even think that! Is this the curse of JJM? Many start to sub, none finish! I'm thinking of Punch right now.

I do appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in the translation, and also those who post the subtitle files here. Please continue.

I think they need much support from us. They can understand and enjoy the whole series without the subs. But they are giving up time to make subs for us. We really appreciate that. To tell the truth, I was so afraid of downloading the series after I read armanigurl's post. Well, I don't usually keep things to myself. That's why I like to speak out what I think, even when it may hurt others' feelings. I'm sorry for that. I do hope that those who take up this project have a little thought about us too, about how miserable we would be watching an incompletely subbed drama. On the other hand, I know it's just my thought. People may say you can't ask for so much from subbers because they make the subs out of their kindness. I understand, but still my mind doesn't let me be quiet.

May I ask how to do it ? Because I understand to be able to register at clubbox you have to enter an I.D. (available to koreans only ?)

I have attempted to dl clubbox several times already. Fisrt, It always ask me to dl clubbox setup. After doing that a window will come out asking for user name ? password? Simultaneously, a window with the desired DL file is in it "waiting". LOL, I haven't any clue what to do next.....

PLus clubbox speed is really stable at 50k/sec or more if u download a lot and accumulate mileage (like me running 3 computer 24/7 downloading and accumulating mileage ), you can download faster than 50k/sec.

A: There is a link on how to get your own clubbox account although you are not korean.
I forgot the link and i can't find it in my favorite folder. maybe someone can post the link here. =\

A:
1st: download and install the clubbox.
2nd: when they ask for username (in the clubbox program), click cancel. They do that because if u have clubbox account, you get mileage whenever u download files. You can still download without having your own clubbox account.
3rd: When the file put into your clubbox window, it is in "pause state". You need to press start download button " I>" the icon after the floppy icon.
(Only 1 file can be download at one time but u can put long queue and left it)
for general info clubbox how to: check this link: http://clubbox.blogspot.com/

Please ... don't even think that!

I understand, but still my mind doesn't let me be quiet.

you know... i have been friends with a few subbers now... and i have seen the frustrations they have to deal with...

these subbers, they have better things to do than to sub a whole series for people.. but sometimes they choose to do it out of requests from people..

along the way, they discover how time consuming it is... how hectic it is... but no fans will try to understand them..

instead they get pestered by these drama fans all the time.. telling them to complete the series OR ELSE, telling them to work faster hence placing pressure on them, some even use bad words for subbers who are late in their subbing of episodes...

i don't know but i see that it is so unnecessary for them to suffer these from complete strangers... they are working for nothing... and fans, if you really want the series completed in its subbing, then i suggest u think of ways to motivate these subbers and not just whine about their work..

my advice to some of you is... if you are totally dependent on subs.. then don't download the series until it is completely subbed..

Well, until now I've just done the timing, so I don't know if I can be called a subber, but I guess I understand how the subbers would feel regarding people rushing them. I would like to encourage them more than anyone else. However, I'm also one of the drama fans waiting, oh no, dying for the subs. So I think I also know how it would feel watching an incomplete subbed series. I think most of the subbers don't want that to happen. I believe most of them want to finish the whole series unless something significant prevents them from doing so. I feel bad when the subs are delayed due to my busy schedule when timing an episode, and I think most of the subbers feel the same. We don't rush any subber, but what if the subbers don't care about us, drama fans, and leave the work incomplete? Then, what is the point for making the subs? It's just like you're doing something without any purpose, like you're performing a show regardless of the audience. I'm sure that you can stop any time you want to. But then, what's the point of doing that?

Once again, I really appreciate the work of all the subbers, and I myself never rush them to release subs. If you're a friend of the subbers and you feel for them, I understand. I also have many friends who are subbers. So, I guess my thoughts wouldn't be much different from yours.

Having been an avid follower of KDrama files I sorta got use to waiting and then hearing the series would not be completed, and then lo and behold, we got both Gumhio and Stairway, so there is hope that someone will carry on. ( I have to say the KDrama people are some of the nicest and most helpful, expecially in IRC, so don't get me wrong).

I speak/read English period. So I am dependent on the kindness of those who are multi-lingual and willing to sub these series, for whatever reason.

It is difficult to wade through 90+ pages looking for subtitles, trying to avoid the spoilers, so I bow down to those who are posting the Fashion 70s subs here. You are appreciated. Those creating the subs are appreicated too, but sometimes you just have to give it out there not expecting anything in return, even if there is little thanks. I know I've had to learn that lesson many times. Kharma, such an interesting and strange thing.

When they give, its already a blessing.. Even if they stop doing it, i can understand. Its not easy doing all this as at the end of the day, we just say thanks and move on to another series, hoping someone will sub.

So my hats off to them... Haiz.... just be thankful....

I think the majority of the poeple here understands how much work subbing is (but still as long as they havent subbed anything themself they wont know how much work it really is).And most people are really grateful and thank the subbers for their work and also sometimes offer help when they are asked (I made that experience). But you have to know that there are always a few complainers which you cant get rid of and have to live with or dont have to :-) .A lot of great subbers stopped their work because of those complainers and no one blaims them. But in my opinion remarks like (why arent there any subs for ep xxx or when will the next ep be out) should just be ignored and not taken to serious.
Me personally I really depend on those subs thats why I try to thank the people involved everytime.
And no one really expects you to finish this drama but we would really be grateful if you could especially since it has been extended to 30episodes and that is a lot of work!
Anyway thats what I wanted to say and Christiane,Lunalovegood and Queer you have done a great job so far!

I think you misunderstand. Of course they don't have to do it, but if they choose to do it they have to accept the consequences. If they cannot, then they have the choice of not continuing.

We are at their mercy, so to speak, and giving thanks and really meaning it does not mean they will contiune. That is what we have to accept.

For some people translation comes easy. I had a friend who could site translate Chinese, perfectly. He had perfect command of Chinese and English, but would not translate series because he had no interest. What it takes from these translators is the desire to do it, and the willlingness to contiune, and if not, well then it is our loss ... until the dvds are released and someone can eadily rips them :-)

so back to my comment, in life we just have to give it out, not expecting anything return, accepting the consequences, not binding ourselves to the results.

There have been already many thank-you's here. Don't you see? Just by seeing some of the rushing messages, you've already generalized that "people don't understand how much time is taken from personal time to sub an episode... " Oh yeah, I guess only you know how time-cosuming subbing is :blink
You may be lucky to have friends who are subbing the series or you feel fine watching the drama raw. Have you ever placed yourself in our shoes, who are dying for the subs? Everything would have been fine if you hadn't stirred up this thread with your little "prediction" that they may not sub the drama completely. It stirred up the confusion here, you know? (We could just wait here forever like a fool, don't know it'll be completely subbed or not.) What was your purpose of saying that? To inform us? To warn us? Then you gave us some advice that we shouldn't download a series if we don't know if it'll be completely subbed or not. Can you really stop downloading and watching a series when you're really into it? What if the TV station which airs this series told you that they would not broadcast it anymore? It sucks, right?
The subbers haven't been here to say a word. Did they send you here to see how much we appreciate their work? I know besides the fact that they're rushed by fans, they're also enjoying making subs for us and many of us didn't hesitate to say "thank you". That's their points for making the subs. If you look out there, in other subs thread, there are always people who are rushing the subbers, and they have been ignored or made fun of. So, no need to bring this fact to this thread. It just happens even though you want it to end.
Let's make it peaceful here. Ignore those offensive posts.

u know... these people subbing the series now are my friends... and they are doing charity here subbing the series for u all....

and as a friend i'd hate to see them being criticise for a good work.. just as my other friends who have subbed other series were subjected to...

so before they get any criticism, i will let everyone know that subbing is hard... and that they may or may not finish the series because it is a 30 episode series... and so far there are only 2 translators and they have their own lives.... but you are making it seem like they have to finish what they started or else they are not thinking about u... i am just stepping in to ask you to think about them too.

just the other day one of them pmed me and told me that she felt sorry to you all for being unable to meet up to your expectations... don't you think she would feel stress about it too?

i am just asking people to be understanding... u don't have to lash out at me because you think i am stirring something here... i have better things to do than to create confusion for people.

this is why i was recommending to those who are bothered by incomplete subs to wait till everything is subbed before downloading... then you won't be left hanging rite? or dissapointed...

mangosteen wrote:You may be lucky to have friends who are subbing the series or you feel fine watching the drama raw. Have you ever placed yourself in our shoes, who are dying for the subs?

my dear, of course I've been there....i was one that was always constantly waiting hands on foot for the subs.. or else why would i have so many friends who are subbers?
that's why i posted in this thread... to spare any heartaches if if ever occur.... hence i recommended that if you are going to be dissapointed, why don't you wait for the whole series to be finished being subbed before u download it...

I think you should just be thankful for the episodes that they spend time subbing for you...

even if they sub two episodes of an entire 16 episode drama... there was still time and sweat involved...

so don't say that there's no point in what they are doing since you did not contribute to the effort in the first place

I have never understood that subbing is this tired. I asked for so much. i want this series to be completely subbed as well...u have no idea how much i love this drama, and there's nothing much i can do but to try and encourage this people that are subbing the series to get it done..

and that is what i'm going to do to ensure that the subs get completed... the more encouragement you give to these subbers, i'm sure the more motivated they'll be to finish subbing the series for y'all...

cheers~ let bygones be bygones~ i don't like holding grudges.. :)

For those in Hawaii and those who may want to sub this series, Fashion 70's is set to air on KBFD starting 7/11/05 (or something like that), replacing Wonderful Life's time slot. I wish whoever subs this series good luck. Especially if it is really 30 episodes long. That'll take some serious dedication to fansub. Gosh, and I thought deciding to sub the remaining 14 eps of WL was daunting!

onoturtle, so WL wont be aired anymore on KBFD or just replace to different timing?
or before fashion70 aired, WL aired till end eps. Both series are good but kinda sad if WL doesnt end with sub on TV =\
WL = comedy&romance vs Fashion70 = fashion&romance ..hmm hard choice =\

Sorry for the confusion. WL concludes next week (KBFD airs two eps a week), and the week after Fashion 70's starts (with two eps/wk too, I assume).

Has Fashion even finished in Korea?

that's the thing with subbing kdramas or any kind of dramas for that matter ---- subbers get annoyed by the constant questions of "when's the next episode coming out?".... and viewers are too addicted to the dramas that we stop to think about how hard or tedious the process of subbing can be. I, myself, is one of the many who anxiously wait for subs to my favorite dramas, and frankly it becomes a bit of frustrating when we are labeled as "leechers" or a "charity" case. I don't get it...subbers, for whatever reasons, put out subs so that other people can enjoy the dramas, they know that we appreciate it, and they know that naturally people are going to be curious about the next episode (if there's a next one), so why are people still arguing over this?

the only solution to this, in my opinion, is if subbers started to charge money for the subs. That way, they have an incentive to finish the series in a timely manner, and the people who pay for the subs don't complain about it! To me, paying is not a big problem, the problem is are there any nice souls out there willing to commit some of their time to do subbing as a living? To subbers who've been subbing for free, please don't take this as an insult to you, because I'm simply just suggesting a way we all can happily enjoy the dramas, we're all grateful for what you've done. something to think about, I guess.

after all said and done, the best way is to learn Korean myself ^_^ why oh why are Korean dramas so addicting????

Folks, can we kill this freaking subject already??

There have been a lot of dumb, ill-advised comments in the last few pages and it's getting ridiculous. I'm noticing that many of them are coming from people who are relatively new to the board, and I don't at all think I'm being some kind of post-count snob in saying that you folks either haven't taken the time to learn the etiquette regarding posting and fansubbing, or you simply haven't been around long enough to learn how things work around here before spouting off your comments on how things should or shouldn't be done.

Calling fansubbing "Charity work" is crap, as is the idea of paying people to do them.

As is that dumb comment earlier by whoever it was that made it seem that folks who volunteer to start subbing a series somehow "owe" everyone here a completed series. They don't owe you anything! So drop it already.

I can guarantee you that all the nagging (and yes, "when are ep "x"'s subs coming out? is definitely considered nagging) does nothing to speed up the process. On the contrary, they often frustrate or piss off the people involved to the point that they either put it on a back burner or drop the project completely.

So leave it at this: Thank you's and comments regarding the subs are welcome. requests, asking about schedules, etc.are definitely not. If you ask, I or someone else will probably just make you feel stupid, if anyone bothers to respond at all. Realize that many if not most of the people involved in a lot of these projects are nice, giving people. They are often not the type to respond in public to the negative comments, and some choose to kind of disappear rather than confront the issue. Is that what you're looking for?? Complaining about the speed, quality, whatever, will more than likely either slow down the process or stop it. And with that being said, any comments from anyone like "they may not even complete the series.... " etc. will undoubtedly spark a bunch of stupid panic responses regardless of whether the person making the comment has a clue about it or not.

If you think they're coming too slow or whatever, volunteer to help out, wait patiently, or just shut the hell up!

And yes, to whoever thinks I'm an **** for saying these things in this way, too freaking bad. This is one post from me that contains no sarcasm whatsoever.
I am not obsessed. I am just very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very focussed...

If you don’t think you’re being a “post-count snob”, then think again! For even bringing it up, and comparing your post-count, that makes you a “post-count snob.” Being new to this particular forum doesn’t mean I’ve never posted in a forum before, so don’t bother to say I “haven’t taken the time to learn the etiquette regarding posting and fansubbing.” I’ve watched numerous subbed dramas, and even attempted at timing subs, so I know how things work, and gotta say it’s definitely time-consuming. So I’m simply suggesting a way that subbers don’t feel like we’re pressing them too hard for the subs when they are nice enough to do this for free. But at the same time, it’s not nice to say subbing is “charity work,” because that’s what I’ve heard around here regarding people who wait for subs.

This is a Subtitle forum, we talk about subbing. And the issues of subbing keep coming up from forum to forum. I want to help out with subbing because I love Korean dramas, but I can’t do translation or timing, so the only way I can think of is to help out financially if it’s time consuming. I want to have the subs, but I also know it’s not right to nag for more subs when people are nice enough to do them for free, that’s why I suggested the idea of paying. In the end, it’s just a suggestion, no need to jump all over me for posting.

By the way, I think YOU’re the one who needs to learn some “etiquette regarding posting in a forum.” Your whole post is about calling other people’s posts dumb or crap! What kind of etiquette is that?

heh heh... apart from ur insults.. i do welcome ur advice.. :)

in fact i do agree that people shud just say thank you.. :P and you are right.. people who sub these series are really nice people.. especially the people subbing this series they are really nice... despite their heavy schedules and work, they are still producing the episodes for y'all...

and what's wrong with being a charity case.. :)

definition of charity from brainydictionary... "Whatever is bestowed gratuitously on the needy or suffering for their relief; alms; any act of kindness."

when i'm waiting hands on foot for a subtitle to be released.. i am needy..
when i cannot understand korean but am addicted to the drama.. i am suffering..
when people choose to subtitle episodes for me... it is an act of kindness..

wats so crap about that? I'm still thankful that there are nice people out there :P

u're right! I will never do this again! not until i'm more coherent with my speech :pale:

@uhoh01: There is a difference between etiquette and politeness. Etiquette varies from place to place. Call it the "ground rules" for a given area or situation. In a boxing ring, it's considered proper etiquette to try to knock the other guy's head off. Do you even know the rules of the game? Maybe, maybe not. Frankly, I'm not concerned about how any other boards like to run. I'm concerned about this one. And the fact that you've been active in other places doesn't in any way make you knowledgeable about how things are here. Fact is, excepting the comment about paying the subbers (which was meant with good intentions, I'm sure), I don't see that we disagree on too many issues anyway.

The point about post count, etc. I brought up for the simple reason that most of the comments that seemed to stir up things around here lately are from people who've either been around for a very short time, or have been members for a while who haven't barely posted or been active in the forums. Also many of whom can't be bothered to read the FAQ's or guidelines of the site. For those people, I have very little patience, along with a large number of others here (though they're not as vocal about it.).

So while you may consider me rude or snobbish or whatever, too bad. I stand by everything I said in my previous post. Maybe you'd like to "enlighten" me on where I'm wrong on some of these issues? If it's simply that you don't like the way I said them, then don't bother.

Feel free to respond here, or better yet via pm, so we can get this thread back to it's intended purpose, which was in large part the reason for my previous post.

@armanigurl: Heh, dictionary quotes. Nice one! I like that...

The word charity just doesn't seem to fit when it comes to subbing. Is it just me, or does anyone else get this vision of Mother Theresa and Ghandi magnanimously poring over tablets and keyboards trying to translate ep 4 of Pride for the masses?

Now that I think about it, that image is a bit hilarious....
