Tian Long Ba Bu (uncut version) [Eng Subs] (Complete)

Postby vtt » Mon May 09, 2005 1:46 am

Here are the subs I converted and retimed for the 40 eps rmvb uncut version.
I didn't convert the subs for ep 1-10 because of Jem's version. I will convert if there are requests for them.

Note: You can use media classic player from real alternative codec to play rmvb with .srt subs

I got the subs from Ruroshin's DVD batch rips http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16004

Did a lot of cutting, re-timing, and a lot of spellchecking. Looks like the DVD version from Ruroshin is an editted version because there are a few sections in the rmvb version that have no subtitles (had to resync them a few times). One noticable section is the partial-nude scene between Mong Ku and Mong Lang; almost a minute of subtitle is missing.

These subtitles are resynced for the uncut version released here by bowi1418. I'm posting here as well as in the thread.
There are minimal corrections too.

haven't them been posted here by peacht? or those you have synced with another different dvd-rip other than the one that have been uploaded here?
i think i won't need yours since i'm doing for the rmvb files, but if you have subs for another different version of dvd-rip, you can post it here so others who download the same dvd-rip as yours will be glad to have it :-)

Tian Long Ba Bu [Batch file]

Postby peacht » Sat Apr 29, 2006 6:45 pm

I'm posting this batch torrent for Tian Long Ba Bu.
Using the batch torrent to download will take strain off the server and hopefully help the series to be more available as people stay seeding for longer.
This series comes in at 16.98gb and is a combination of files posted here by 3 different people. thetenken, aznmikelee and bowi1418.
The first 2 episodes are hardsubbed the rest are softsubbed. The first episode was ripped and subtitled by thetenken, episodes 2-10 were ripped by aznmikelee and subtitled by Jalana. The remaining episodes posted by bowi1418 are neverbw rips and the subs are taken from ones posted by Ruroshin and retimed and minimaly corrected by me.
I am not able to seed this entire series at anything like the rate most people seem to think of as adequate. I will seed inbetween seeding other things and request that anybody with any of these episodes help out by seeding as much as possible.
This is a fantastic series and goes by the name Demi-Gods Semi-Devils, Chronicles of Heavenly Dragon, Warring States of legend and others.
You can find a review here
A gallery here
DramaWiki
And a couple of pics from the first few mins so you are in absolutely no doubt as to the nature of this series.

Errors have been pointed out that exist in the .srt files of this batch.

Hi peacht,
Your generosity is as always unmatched! What a huge undertaking. I dont have room to reshare this entire batch file! But I'll reshare what I can and help seed some. Will load some eps up as soon as I can, in a day or two.

I hope people appreciate your hard work by posting many thx!

just a note incase people don't know. If you have any of the single episodes, drop them into the batch directory so save downloading them again.

Jem's releases have cut scenes as it is a tvrip...they really can't show hardcore violence and alot of the gore that goes with it.

Or if you use a client such as Bitcomet, it will show you a list of all files being d/led in a torrent. Then you can simply disable any episodes you already have and only d/l the episodes you want. I am not sure of other clients that have this ability, that is why I spoke of Bitcomet.

Edited:
======================================================================
II am just relaying technical information, please help seed any episodes you can and are willing to do.

Cheers

You shouldn't do that. People with complete episodes should help seed them.
I put all the episodes I already have into the bact and started with 45%

Sorry,
I misunderstood what you were trying to say. Of course they should help seed if they are willing. By putting the file in the torrent directory and then running a hash check you can become a seeder for the episodes you already have.

Cheers

Sorry my Internet connection dropped out overnight
I'm glad to see some people with higer percentages in the stats and also glad to hear some offers of seeding.
I won't hold you to any seeding CeLtiC as you release and seed an insane amount already and have for years.
This series is great, the best wuxia in my opinion and I struggled to get hold of it for so long, hopefully people who share my sentiment will want to enable others to see it too and help me seed.
As for the difference to Jem's, there is also a quality difference, tv versus dvd and the onscreen advertising that jem's series often have.
Subs, if you want the subs alone then look in the sub thread here you may need to retime them again depending on the version

that's a question which could cause much debate and this isn't the place for it. You may find a thread about it in the support section.
I use bitcomet and I think a lot of people here use it too from what I see in my list. BItcomet suits my needs well.
I used azureus and didn't like it but it is probably the most "complete" client with numerous plug-ins and multiple screens full of really important or useless unformation depending on your point of view.
The client seemingly gaining in popularity now is utorrent which is very small and uses low resources but offers all the features you need. Again, I have issues with it because I can't work out how to preview files without it getting upset so i stick to bitcomet.
The bottom line is that they all do the job and offer all teh features you are likely to want/need, it's really just a matter of personal preference.

As this is a big file and the majority of people are just starting, it will be slow.
What is important is that the files you wanted seeding are now being seeded. :D

Think about it tho, If i have 10k upload speed and there are 100 people downloading from me then everybody takes a little bit, the chances that those at the bottom take the pieces you need are low, so those at the bottom move quicker than those at the top. I try to maximise my bandwidth by uploading to those with the highest upload speeds therefore spreading the parts more quickly. If your upload speed is good then you will be one of the people I upload to. If not, then you'll wait longer.
Other people will come along to help seed and they may bring the parts you need. then again they may not.
At the end of the day, or month you get the series, help others to get it in the process and I get more bandwidth to upload new series and seed long dead torrents 8)

This is the cut version of TLBB 2003, isn't it?

Where can I find the uncut version? I think it is in rmvb format.

I used to think this was the "cut" version. I'm less sure now. When I was working on the subs for the later episodes there was one scene in particular which was a bit steamy, there were no subs for that part and I asked Calcifer translate the missing lines.
So, I think the first 10 eps are probably from the cut version and the rest isn't. Even if it is cut, I don't think it's cut as much as the "Chronicles of Heavenly Dragon" the version aired in Singapore and captured by jem.

Not sure what you're referring to but glad to see you still around and thanks for uploading this series.
I'm happy to see a lot of new people getting the chance to watch it.

Thanks to anybody who is seeding episodes or has come over to the batch file and is helping to spread this series to others :D
I'm glad it's not just me uploading the whole thing as that would have taken forever!

Just wanted to say you won't be alone uploading the batch...
Thank you for fixing the subtitle.

I'm wondering what's different about these first episodes (1 to 10) ? I got a set with 350 M per episode!!!

Aha, great, I'm glad you are helping out.
I also started out with the 350mb rips which for the entire series. When the larger files started being released here I replaced the smaller files. The quality is a little better after all and for a series like this it really counts.
I've just reposted here all the episodes posted at d-addicts with the english srt. This way I only have to respond to one reseed request and every finds the timed subs too!

Hey peacht, I clicked on the link that you showed. Would you happen to know how good the subbing for this is? I actually never heard of Wala, how are they in regards to the security when you order products from them? Have you ever ordered anything from this site?

So, I think the first 10 eps are probably from the cut version and the rest isn't. Even if it is cut, I don't think it's cut as much as the "Chronicles of Heavenly Dragon" the version aired in Singapore and captured by jem.

Probably one should compare your subtitles with the subtitles vtt claimed to be from the uncut version? And see if there are any differences e.g. missing dialogues and the like? thx

Yes, they were the same subtitles I used to work from. The scene vtt mentions with a minute of no subs is the part Calcifer translated and I added to these subs.
So the versions are the same, ie eps 11-40 are uncut, eps 2-10 are cut, ep1 I can't say, no idea about the source for that.

I finished watching this series it was good the only thing I didn't like was that they ripped sountracks off several movies like the rock, and terminator 2 lol

I have choppy video playback on all episodes with soft sub. Do they need special video codec or something? I wonder if anyone experiences the same thing. TIA.

All the video files are encoded using Xvid. None are choppy when I play them, you may well have codec conflict. It's easy to get your codecs in a mess if you install a few different things or if you use codec packs.
My advice would be to look at the codecs you have installed, uninstall them all, runa reg cleaner and then re-install only the ones you need or a single pack which meets all your needs. You could get away with just ffdshow but k-lite codec pack is popular, CCCP - combined community codec pack from a russian group has been highly recommended to me recently or this matroska pack also comes highly recommended for all your needs

Thanks for your response, peacht. I used Divx codec and then later XviD codec with the same choppy result. I tried with different players..ATI file player, Window media player etc all the same. I wonder if it's the codec or the player's settings. I'll try the Matroska pack to see if that helps.

Installing more codecs without removing the ones you already have may only add to your problem.
I know when I used to have problems with playback the player tha worked best for me was Media Player Classic, I wouldn't use anything else now. Videolan's vlc player is a player which uses directX to render the video rather than the codec so often plays things other players won't and plays things smooth that would otherwise be choppy. Give them a try.

I think the source of my problem is file corruption. I loaded some of the unplayable episode in VirtualDub and see that the scenes all messed up. I try downloading again.

I have my client set to hash check files on completion, that way there is no chance of ending up with corrupt files.
If you download again but put the files you have into the folder it should hash check the files and only download the parts you need.

I appreciate your help so much. As you can see, I'm new this torrent stuff. I use bittorrent client. I don't know why some of my later episodes are all unplayable on three different computers. Do we get corruption if there is download interruption, ie. restarting computer, pause or restart client etc? I'm sure it's not the codec because some episodes play just find while some play choppy and others unplayable all together.

I really don't know what causes corruptions but we are communicating masses of info and there is plenty of oppourtunity for it to go wrong somewhere along the line. That's why you need some system in place to check it's all working like it should.
When i've used utorrent it seems to constantly dump corrupt pieces and ban the people who gave me those corrupt pieces. I prefer bitcomet and have it set to hash files on completion. It also hashes the file(s) when you load it. So you really should be able to fix any corruptions without any extraneous downloading.
