Episode 5 is out! It's my favorite episode so far.

There are MAJOR upgrades this time

I read the documentation for DirectVobSub at last! Now the sub is more visually appealing and detailed than ever!

I will update the last 4 episodes before starting for the 6th. It probably won't slow me down too much

SRT cannot handle color.
Isn't it better for you to use SMI instead of SRT in vobsub
environmnet?

I guess your player doesn't support color, fonts etc for srt. I recommend you to just download DirectVobSub. It's pretty easy to install+use.

If there's incompatibility issues, then I can release a regular version of the sub.

I'm not familiar with all the different formats. I'm not sure if saving to different format would allow other players to view the file (possibly same problem as .srt).

Also, my sub editor doesn't support .smi, and the only program I have that supports .smi is SubtitleWorkshop, which doesn't support partial Italics/Underline.

In episode 7 and 8, this drama gets kinda different.
Shimao-kun doesn't do what Shimao-kun's supposed to do.
He's not the kind and pure Shimao anymore.
In episode 1-6, I always got a nice impression about life after seeing the drama.
But now, nothing.
Well I guess it's what you called Life.
Hope it turns out better.
And bahamut will keep on subbing no matter what. :D

Sure :-)

I didn't do previews before because it would probably be a pain to time everything, and I suspected most people won't even see it :P

I will start subbing previews starting with episode 6

Yeah, that was a surprise. You can tell that even Takayanagi was starting to fear him by the end of that episode. I'm glad I get to see Shimao's dark side at last. It makes this dorama really exciting!

I can't wait for ep 9 to come out :lol

E-sub for episode 6 is done.

I can release subs faster now thanks to tianj from our forum for informing me about Korean subs made by 김남규 from JDC

I have contacted them, and they have agreed to let me use their timing starting with ep7.

If anyone else has any tips, or even something small like spelling errors, please PM me.

Your subs are great Bahamut! Thanx!

What program do you use to sub? I've been using subtitleworkshop but it seems harder to work with when I want to add color, change font, or do placement options.

The program I use is much simpler one compared to SubtitleWorkshop. Everything has to be done manually too. I basically type down all the codes once, and then copy+paste.

I use the one called DivXSubtitleTool. It's kind of experimental (or unfinished :blink ), but I prefer using simpler programs... I still use Windows Media Player Classic 6.4 as my default video player

I feel you with the simpler programs = better.

Media Player Classic is the best video player yet... just irreplaceable.

Subtitle workshop seems simple to me though...so 'm curious how much simpler this program is.

Thanks. I was actually thinking about subbing Engine before the season started, since I'm also a huge KimuTaku fan, but first few episodes were way too weak for me. It's getting pretty good after lap 8 though...
After seeing 2 episodes of KoiOchi, I knew I had to make sub for this series instead

Definitely made a great decision! This series made a great impression on me right after the very awesome episode 1!

miriko wrote:Well... Thank you very much for your decision! Koi is a really fun series... Plus I can drool over Tanihara Shosuke in english now!!! Thanks

I'm actually watching this series RIGHT after I just finished Shinsengumi. Tanihara Shosuke is a real good actor but so far he's been playing the characters I don't like... He was Itou-san in Shinsengumi and now an obstacle for Shimao... The actor that plays Ryuta tho! Awesome in Shinsengumi and now in this drama! I like his chemistry with Mariko (Kimura Yoshino) who's easily my fave female chara of this drama so far. Takayanagi's right.. Kaori does appear a little scatter-brained =\ Sato Eriko's character reminds me of the bartender in HERO... weird o_O;; but cool b^^;;

hrmm.. Engine still beats KoiOchi in ratings... strong the power of the Kimutaku is.

Tanihara Shousuke was really bad in Gokusen2, playing a cheesy teacher. His acting is very good in KoiOchi, especially after ep4. Hurry and watch it :w000t:
Yamamoto Koji (Ryuta) is a really good actor, I was impressed.

Yes, KimuTaku is insanely popular in Japan, and, Engine has Monday all for itself.
Though not on the same timeslot, KoiOchi still have to compete with Attack No.1 AND Yume de Aimashou :fight:

Out of curiousity,
iirc, you were going to revise some of the earlier subtitle files. Has this revision been completed?

ie: if I want ot have all of the correct files up to current, I should have;
1-7 with a ~.English.~ ending correct

And of course, thank you for subtitling this.

Yes. All the revisions are done. You should have all your subtitles with .English.srt :thumright:

Thanks Bahamut619 for the episode 7 subs! Great work once again! Ep7 the best one yet. :lol

Can't wait to see ep8 (with subs of course). Judging from the ep8 preview, it seems to be like the turning point in the plot. No pressure on you though...release the subs at your own pace :-)

Oh man! Thanks for the eps 7 subs!! I finally read some of your blog as I finally finished watching eps 1-6 (all in one night... wahoo!!!) and I actually thought eps 5 was kinda cheesy and predictable. I didn't think the acting was cheesy... just the plot of that episode. They did put a little twist on it tho at the end which I was impressed with.

What caught me totally off-guard was episode 6 O_O hahaha I'm so naive. I guess they're just great actors =P and I love how it all makes sense at the end. wow. And they really mess with the viewer's head now cuz you don't know what to think, esp after an episode like that. (sorry if I sound unclear... I don't wanna give away big spoilers because it's so worth watching)

Ryuta and Mariko have such great chemistry ^^;; I really love that little sub-plot heheh. I wished you subbed the words he was singing to himself about fish! HAHAHA that was funny!

Can't wait to watch eps 7!!!! Thanks again!!

Ep 7 is great!

spoiler

I thought this would be your typical 'poor man-rich man' drama but its turning into a 'come to the dark side' set in the business world. The lines between right and wrong are now blur and seriously who can fault island boy for what he did?
