Nietzsche-sensei [Japanese Subs] (ep1-2 of 10)

Postby Shirasagi Saku » Thu Apr 07, 2016 8:27 pm

Not official subs (there was none during the broadcast), so it's not 100% complete.
DVD release is scheduled to 22.07, let's hope it will include subs.
If you use this for a translation now, please let me know, so I know there is need for more!

Nietzsche-sensei (Mr. Nietzsche in the Convenience Store)
NTV, 14.01.2016-27.03.2016

Image

A new part-time worker arrives to the Three-Seven convienience store where Matsukoma, the eternal job hunter is working in the night shift. His name is Nii, he studies Buddhism, he's dead serious, and the first words he speaks in front of Matsukoma, are the famous words of Nietzsche: "God is dead". Since the other co-workers (as well as some of the customers) are quite abnormal, it's only natural that the ordinary conversations, intended to while the uneventful hours away, quickly take an absurd turn.

Nii: Mamiya Shoutarou
Matsukoma: Urai Kenji
Shioyama Kaede: Matsui Rena
Watari: Jirou
Manager: Satou Jirou
Shibata Ken: Matsuda Ryou
Tatsuzaki Moe: Uchida Rio

Yeah, NTV doesn't include teletext on some dramas (probably late-night shows).
Btw, the English translation has already been completed, it's on crunchyroll. You can probably rip the subs and save yourself some time on the timing if you're going to transcribe it into Japanese.

Thanks, but I like to do the all the timing by myself (at least when doing a translation too), rather than adjusting an existing subtitle. I tend to split lines also at shorter pauses, sometimes the translation demands a different timing. For me, it's worth a bit of extra effort.
I would've never thought that lack of captioning is a matter of the broadcaster, though... Good to know.
