Watched the first episode of the new Shomuni series this afternoon. It's a bit of a shame that the cast has been shaken up so much - most of the key characters have been replaced - but at least Makiko Esumi, as Chinatsu Tsuboi, is there to spearhead the new team and, even 10 years since the last series, she looks fabulous at 46 (♥). Loathsome personnel chief Terasaki is still in the cast, thank goodness, but it'll take a bit of time to adjust to so many new characters (and the loss of so many much-loved old ones). This new series also has a totally new production team, writer and director who have an awful lot to live up to after the first 3 seasons. Still, I'm delighted that there's a new series; I had no idea that it was in the pipeline. Looking forward to the rest of the episodes enormously and I'm delighted that they're being fan-subbed almost immediately after they've been broadcast.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED.
