I'm part of the way through the next episode, but I got really sidetracked with work and life stuff... I'll try to get back to it. :( Sorry for the delay.

Thanks. :) Unfortunately I hit another delay... my old 22" CRT died... so I've been stuck on an old 15" CRT that tops out at 1024x768. :-( I can't fit everything I need to see on the screen, so I haven't really been able to do much work lately... I finally ordered my new 24" flat panel yesterday, so hopefully that will arrive in a few days and I'll be able to work on things again! :D

Hehe, i have a 21" CRT with a really great screen and paid nothing for it, because nobody wants to have these large and heavy thing although it's in a good technical condition. :lol

Yeah, the picture on it was absolutely beautiful... it was a 22" Mitsubishi Diamontron 2040u flat screen CRT... an old professional level monitor that originally cost like $1,200 new. :P I ran it at its native resolution of 1600x1200.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d12/p ... 1114sm.jpg <-- shot of it from a few years ago. (notice the totoro catbus on top)

I used it for 8 or 9 years before it finally gave up the ghost. :) I'd have kept on using it too if it hadn't died... :( and yes... it was ENORMOUS (and heavy!). hahaha

I've read that the newer flat panels don't last as long and might need to be replaced as soon as 3 years. :( This will be my first time owning one... so we'll see how it does for doing graphic design work and how long it lasts etc...

My first 21" CRT was a Panasonic one, bought for less money on ebay. After some years the bulb inside was broken. I found another 21" CRT on ebay for free and i'm still using it for a few years. It's a Fujitsu Siemens one. I read that most manufacturer of modern flat-screens install power supplies which break down after 3+ years (Technical obsolescence to get more profit?). I don't know if i would buy a new flat-screen when my CRT break down, but as long as possible i would still use CRT's for free :P

Mitsubishi Diamontron CRT ... $1,200 ... :blink unbelievable, and now you get them nearly for free on ebay ...

Don't worry, I only paid about $240 for it as an eBay refurb back around 2003. ;) I could probably get another similar one today for even less, but I'm going to try this flat panel at least to see how it goes...

Thank you for the first episode subs, I'll wait patiently for the rest! I'm glad there will be soft subs. I downloaded this without knowing it didn't have subs, so I was like OH MAN lol .

Thank you for scripting this drama.

EDIT:
Okay, I realized now, that I got the other DVDrip of this drama

Please check the timing for ep01at line 497 (0:39:41,320 <-> 0:39:38,520) and line 547 (0:43:22,360 <-> 0:43:44,460)
() are values of changed timing for YYeTs version.

I don't have the version from Avallac'h to check the timing.

Can you link the pages for these 2 different versions so I can check the timings against both and post fixed copies for each perhaps?

I used episode 1 from YYeTs http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_110257.htm
I wonder if different DVD are distributed.

Attached my modified sub, check out line 497 and 547
Can you work with this information?

BTW: episode 2 (YYeTs) worked fine with your timing

Ok, grabbing the YYeTs ones to check the subs against those as well. They look to be slightly higher res with much smaller file sizes. :) So it would probably be nice to have working subs for both versions.

I will reseed this files for few days

I was suprised about the 20 sec scene after line 546 (I'm pregnant), which is not in jem TVrip.

I've been planning on it, but had life turn upside down and ended up having to move to a new city and start over from scratch. :)

I've actually had the tab to this thread open in my browser for awhile now to remind me to get back to work on it, I've just been busy with life stuff. Hopefully soon. I'm really sorry for the delay. :(

If someone else is interested in working on it I wouldn't mind, I'd just like a note here to be sure we don't duplicate work. :)

I'm trying to work on this project again now that I have some free time, but Aegisub is crashing every time I try to load the audio from the video file! :(

I've tried the 3.0.4 release and the 3.1.0-beta2 release, and both do the same thing.

EDIT: I was having trouble with it not playing the whole audio file, and cutting out after 6:13 (for ep3), but it looks like I got it working by switching from FFMpeg to AVISynth under advanced audio settings (I also upped my audio cache size to 1GB).

I'm still having the problem with it crashing if I try to load the audio from the video file. It says in the log that it can't find any audio in the file and that apparently makes it crash. But I can demux the audio and work on it this way.

It's been a LONG time since I worked on this, so I have to kind of relearn the tools again. ;)

EDIT2: It looks like it's a problem with the files either having errors or not being muxed correctly or something. If I go under advanced audio options and set "audio indexing error handling mode" to "ignore" (instead of "stop"), then it will go ahead and index the files and play them.

Progress! ;)

Hey, phreadom! Welcome back!
That also happened to me before in my previous project, I just re-encoded the file in Handbrake.
Then I just used the new file.
I had no problems after that.
Transcribing is time consuming. :(

I was worried about that possibly altering the timings somehow so that the subs wouldn't match the files from the original batch. :/

But you're going to resync them anyway to the dvdrips, right?

The timing on the DVD rips is essentially identical. So it's just a matter of making sure they start at the same time... and for that you can just shift the timings of the entire subs at the same time. And then if you find a spot where a scene is inserted, you just shift from that point on etc.

My worry with re-encoding is that it would subtly change the frame rate or something... leading to a drift in the timings from having the video a tiny bit slower or faster overall... and that's something more difficult to fix. ;)

Bear in mind that I'm mostly a newbie with this stuff... so I don't know the details enough to feel entirely comfortable straying outside the bounds of what I know so far. ;)

So what I do, because I can't get the AviSubDetector to detect the text automatically very well... is to set it on manual mode to detect where the subs are. Then as they pop up, I type them in manually. This creates a basic sub file with the text and timings. Then I load that up with the original video in Aegisub and watch through it to make sure the timings are correct, and I fill in the few subs it missed. Tweaking the timings on the bad spots. (Like the beginning of ep3... the same sub shows up three times; once before, and twice after the opening credits. None of which is actually well timed to the spoken text that only occurs once, after the opening credits, and basically after any of the 3 occurrences. There's a lot of stuff like that.)

Then finally I load it up with the associated RAW and make sure everything lines up there. I don't remember if I had to do any adjustments for frame rate or not. I'll cross the bridge again when I come to it. ^_^

Any update on this? The DVDRIP was recently re-posted on the forums.
