Thanks for the subs. I've been looking forward to this.

I downloaded the 640X380 275 mb video awhile ago to check it out before the sub were out, and these subs worked fine with that one.

Now to download the HD version now that the subs are here.

Thanks again.

thanks for the subs
...but can't seem to sync them to the HD .mp4 RAW: the subs start showing right away while the show's intro is running. what subtitle filter do i need? i tried directvobsub ( vsfilter ) and also built-in sub filter from GOM player, KMPlayer, media player classic. all have the english subs running very early during the intro and not when the actual show starts. what am i missing or doing wrong ?

You're right, the raw posted here has a preview added at the beginning of the ep. It's also missing a segment at the end of the ep so I recommend anyone who doesnt have the ep already to get our mkv version instead (or re-download if you dont mind that). They're posted here: http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_84809.htm

Here's new softsubs for the 1280x720 raw posted by Xraymind though.

Can anyone check if I got this right? the first subs worked fine with the SD raw right? And these should work with the 720p raw posted by Xyaymind (Though I recommend getting our mkv because of the missing content).

Initial translations for ep 3-6 are done already. Just waiting for the spot translator/translation checker to finish working on them.

So yeah, we'll finish this series for sure. Taking a bit longer than i'd like but we'll get there =)

I thought I'd bump this to announce that English soft-subs for Ep 4 are being released in all the usual places. Eps 5 and 6 should be coming shortly. They're in the process of being timed.

As the translation checker I've had the pleasure of seeing most episodes of this series 2-3 times each. I hope they do a second series because Yabe is such a lovable bumbling character. It's all so silly, but almost always funny.

Thanks to everyone for putting up with the long wait between Ep 3 and Ep 4. I had some real life business I had to take care of before I could get back to fansubbing.

all i can say is, DOH! i'd been meaning to ask just never got around to it heh, thanks for the update! and i do check websites when i know about them but often they aren't very enlightening, like one groups, not one entry past aug3, it's like they all died or something.

I remember one subbing group that had a ask where the subs are and we will delay release policy. That's why a lot of people try to ask indirectly. On the other hand I think people asking shows the subbers that there is demand and gives them incentive.

Yeah, we don't have a policy like that. Just use common sense when asking about stuff, there's obviously a huge difference between asking about a sub when it's been a while and going "OMG! You're so slow! sub faster!" after just a day ;P If you ask a normal and realistic question I dont see why subbers should not answer or even hate it.

wrong you can't end it with that, why not the latest trick movie once it's released and someone subs it? and i hear they may do a season 4 of trick.. rumoured mainly but i'd love it if they did.
Yabe says they might do a sequel of Keibuho Yabe Kenzo at the end of ep6, hard to tell if he's serious or not though xD
added ep 6! The last episode =).

Thank you so much! Not sure I've encountered as much craziness as I did in the first episode (but then what did I expect with Namase in the lead?) and knew it was going to be hopeless if there never were any subs. Again, thank you for the hard work!

Many thanks for actually doing this series!
Probably most of us who watch this are either detective-series fans or ones who love "Trick" ^_^

Looking forward to your next project...

wrong you can't end it with that, why not the latest trick movie once it's released and someone subs it? and i hear they may do a season 4 of trick.. rumoured mainly but i'd love it if they did.
Yabe says they might do a sequel of Keibuho Yabe Kenzo at the end of ep6, hard to tell if he's serious or not though xD
added ep 6! The last episode =).

Well Yabe Kenzo did quite well TV ratings wise for a late night show. And they did leave that Cult sub plot of ep 5/6 hanging/unresolved. Unless that Cult showed up in the new Trick special/Movie.

We're planning to sub it but we most definitely won't be able to do it right away. The original translator who did season 1 for us won't be available for season 2 so we'd either have to wait till someone else from our group has more time or find someone else. And seeing as drama translators, especially good ones who can do a show like this justice are quite scarce I don't expect the latter to happen.

Thanks so much for the info/update Drazic, it's greatly appreciated. Shame it's going to take sometime to get subbed but beggars can't be choosers. Thanks again. :D

anyway your subtitles of part 1 were so very very good, I`d rather wait than put up with less quality ...
btw in my opinion this is one of the best dorama series

One Year Later: I'm assuming no one ever subbed the second series?
