NAT fine, but not showing any seeds even though they exist

Post by sukida » Oct 16th, '12, 21:12

Discussion on http://www.d-addicts.com/forums/viewtop ... 61#1531161 .

An ep is being seeded, but it shows as having zero seeds. I am curious how this can happen.

Of course I am not firewalled (NAT OK), and I am connected to DHT etc.

Try to isolate the problem to your network, computer, or the bittorrent client. So use a different bittorrent client and see if that works. If that still don't work, use another computer or running Ubuntu Live CD(it doesn't mess with your computer's hard drive, it lets you test drive Ubuntu Linux and comes with bittorent cleint).

PS, try to add/modify the torrent with my list of public trackers.(Try this first) :P

That last one seems promising and it explains why this might happen.

Azureus only seems to let me enter one tracker at a time. Is this true?

last time I could not connect to a seeder was because of the blocklist of transmission (client)
the IP of the seedbox was in the blocklist.

I tried unchecking enable in the blocklist in Azureus, the stopping and restarting the torrent. Same.

It's possible that your ISP is blocking your torrents. Copy and paste this to Google search:

isp traffic shaping

Try the test here: http://broadband.mpi-sws.org/transparency/bttest.php

Thanks. Couldn't run the test. Traffic shaping can stop seeds from being noticed? I'm on Cox.
