Japanese Audio Files for Drama Series
I often rip the audio from my favorite Jdorama series. The resulting MP3 files give me the ability to listen to the audio on my MP3 player or in my car. After listening to an episode a few times, I find I pick up a lot more of the language. This technique is probably most helpful to intermediate to advanced students of Japanese.
Mods: The idea of posting these audio files was discussed with mizune and jholic. I've put this post in the Subtitles forum on the basis of these being Japanese subtitles that happen to be audible rather than visible.
Here are links to the audio files for Ice World (Koori no Sekai). If people believe these to be helpful, maybe other series can be added to this thread in the future (by any poster).

It is a proven fact that when you use your vision sense, it weakens your listening sense. I have to always close my eyes when I'm attempting to listen to an audio bit that I'm otherwise having a problem understanding. Most of you probably do this without knowing it, such as listening to music when you want your focus to be more on the music.

I agree this technique can be helpful, but like you said, it's probably best for intermediate to advanced students of Japanese. I actually find that listening and watching facial expressions and actions helps me understand in what context to use words.
But this is really a good idea, especially for people who want to learn Japanese in an interesting way. Just listen to your favorite dramas!

but there is a way easier to get this audio files
just open your .avi dramas with VirtualDubMod, go in Streams, Stream List
and click below DEMUX, put a name and click OK
yoshi, now virtualdubmod will save ONLY the audio in the foulder you selectioned

I'm back with another drama you might want to try. I've uploaded MP3 audio for the 11 episodes of "A Million Stars Falling From the Sky." Here's the link:

shigasumi - If you're looking for the book for "Koori no Sekai" ("Ice World"), you can find it in paperback form on the Kinokuniya website. The book's dialogue is almost identical to the drama. Send me a PM if you have any questions.

listening is helpful no matter what level you are on... if you don't ebelieve me read ajatt and i konw from personal experience. but obviously you can' t ONLY listen and then expect to fluent obviously... but listening is most definitely part of the equation.
