How to Convert VHS Tapes to DVD and Not Get Crushed Blacks

Postby MasterOfPuppets » Tue Aug 17, 2010 2:50 am

I have some drama tapes I'm converting to VHS, and despite my VCR having an option to fix the blacks, they still are crushed in some spots. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

Define "crushed". Not deep blacks (IRE problems), blockiness (bitrate too low), etc. What equipment are you using for recording, capture and compression? Without this info we cannot help you....
