[Help] Karaoke Timing, Stuck

Postby sp4z4646 » Sun Jan 11, 2009 3:30 am

Hello! :D I've already used the previous links provided on the other topics asking about Karaoke timing, but none of them seemed to help me.
I have Aegisub and I am trying to make the words into Karaoke as opposed to subs. I have already timed the video and everything. but I am now stuck. I see the karaoke button on the left and pressed it then have timed each split and accepted it....Now what? Help please!

So you have k-timing done now?

If so, next you make effect. Unless you don't want anything fancy but the very simple colour change from left to right (either syllable by syllable [k] or smoothly syllable by syllable [kf]).

Since you are new to karaoke subbing, I recommend to just try something simple and familiarise yourself with tags.

PS.
Aegisub manual is your friend. http://aegisub.cellosoft.com/docs/Main_Page

But I am getting stuck..... Where do I put [k] or [kf] or whatever it was^^ ? :D

And this is the part where you pick the colors?

When you do k-timing, meaning when you time each syllable, those {\k} tags are created. You don't have to change them. If you definitely want to use kf and don't know how to write code, just replace {\k} tags with {\kf}. Also you can pick colours using Styles since writing code may be a bit too difficult for now.

Example. Your k-timed line may look like this:
{\k18}{\k51}Ka{\k20}na{\k27}shi{\k28}i {\k24}ho{\k25}do {\k74}ki{\k30}re{\k71}i {\k25}da{\k239}ne{\k42}

You get those numbers (duration) + {\k} tag when you accept the timing in karaoke mode.

Hm.... I don't see where it shows...
This is what it looks like:

I'm so tired of being here{\3c&HE107F6&}

But when i go too the karaoke button on the left, and it has them broken up already and I moved the little parts so it will fit with the word, it doesn't show anything but if I go back and play it, it is right....
But I don't see any tags.

You have to click the little check mark thing to accept the changes. Otherwise you are spending lots of time doing absolutely nothing.

I'm sorry to say but I have a feeling you haven't read a single tutorial. Did you even check Aegisub manual I gave a link to?

1. First you make basic timing. In other words, you time each line. When basic timing is done and the lines are ready for k-timing, click the Karaoke button.

2. Click Split button so that you can split the words (by syllables).

3. Then click the parts where you want to split. When you're done marking the parts, click Accept Split.

4. Then shift timings of syllables.

5. When shifting is done, accept changes.

6. Tadaa~ K-timing is done.

Omg the CHECKMARK!! :D lol..... I kept thinking it was the commit button!! :D
Thank you puppetprincess!! :D keke... I can't believe something as simple as that is what was preventing the subs from showing up!!: D lol. !!: D thank you!!

And thank you sungie as well for being patient with me. :D I did read the aegisub manuals but the ones I looked at were either not completely finished and didn't have screenshots, which is so helpful, or they were too confusing to read... They should really make them super simple for the karaoke challenged. :)

But thank you!! :D
