Guidelines for Posting in this Forum

Post by Ruroshin » Feb 1st, '07, 22:38

Posts in this subforum should follow the general guidelines:
  • Topic title should contain the name of the Series and publisher of the DVD.
  • The topics should contain a review of the DVD. Review of the actual series itself is more suited for the KDrama Discussion subforum.
  • The review is recommended to provide the following:
    • in a link to the Wiki entry of the series
    • a link to the place where you purchased the DVD.
    • region number of the DVD
    • video aspect ratio
    • price
    • number of episodes on the DVD
    • any extras that came with the DVD
    • any extra langugaes
    • the equipment you used to view it with (e.g. what DVD player, TV etc)
* Although the name of the subforum is KDrama on DVD it is not limited to DVD, any forum of commerical release can be reviewed here.

I am reserving this spot for links.

Please PM me and include the associated text and URL of any links you think should be here.

KBS America online shop: http://www.kbs-america.com/product/index.php

YAE online catalog: http://www.yaentertainment.com/catalog.html

Korean Drama DVD's at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/searc ... tch=search

Careful, many bootlegs from Amazon marketplace sellers!

Please, when you write reviews at sites like Amazon and YesAsia, include sufficient information in your review so that potential purchasers know they are buying EXACTLY the same product that you reviewed!

Note that a dvd encoded in anamorphic widescreen (16:9) format has significantly better image quality than one encoded in 4:3 letterbox. When you are able to quiz someone at a store about a dvd you are considering for purchase, be sure to ask whether the dvd is 16:9 anamorphic or 4:3 letterbox! (For shows which were not broadcast in widescreen format, 4:3 fullscreen is the norm, there is only one encoding format in that case - but beware of 4:3 fullscreen presentations of material originally broadcast widescreen... Because 40% of the picture has been thrown away!).

I will no longer be moderating this subforum or participating at D-Addicts in any way. I will honor my obligations to finish QC'ing HERO and editing Haken no Hinkaku.
