The very first one I watched was:
Jdrama: Hana yori Dango. I just love Matsumoto Jun
Kdrama: My girl
Tdrama: Hana Kimi

If I remember well, my first Jdorama was: Shotgun Marriage

First drama was Stand Up!! It was about 4 guys trying to lose their virginity as they were the last ones in the school. I found it interesting and helped me get used to dramas (their exaggerated expressions). Just recently, i watched Orange Days and took interest in the two main leads. Was very funny, sad, and left me with a good feeling at the end. I'd recommend it.

My first drama was Devil Beside You. Had read the manga (The Devil Does Exist) so I had to watch it. Mike He was hot and all, but it wasnt a great drama. So I started watching It Started With a Kiss instead and it was way better.

The first drama that got me hooked...forgot the title. I was channel surfing one night and ended up on the Arirang channel. Started watching the series and I liked how the kdrama progressed.

Then Meteor Garden started in the local tv stations but I wasn't able to watch all the episodes because it was airing on a time slot where I had absolutely no access to TV at that time. THE HORROR!

So I bought some DVDs online and that basically started my drama addiction, which was basically burning a hole in my pocket because I had to purchase the DVDs online.

Thank Goodness for D-addicts, saving me tons of money on DVD purchases. Now its internet and electricity cost...ahahahahaha.

My first Asian drama was "Ghost" (1999) starring Jang Dong Gun, when I first came to Korea. I watched it at the crack of dawn every morning as it was on re-runs and I was suffering from major jetlag :D Actually, "Piano," starring Jo In Sung, was on right after that, but JIS left a bad first impression, so I didn't watch it. (And subsequently haven't cared much for JIS either :P )

My first J-Dorama was "Pride" starring Kimura Takuya, simply because I was on Crunchyroll and saw picture of a drama about ice hockey hehe. I fell in love with Kimura-san and about a year later (!) I realised he was in SMAP (facepalm).

I've been addicted to Korean and Japanese dramas ever since <3

IRIS was my first Kdrama or rather first of any ast asian dramas. I am from Pakistan and we have very good dramas of ourselves so i had always been a fan of tv and had been watching western dramas for a long time. but i never herd of any east asian drama before late 2010 and then when i watched itaxura na kiss as anime and then code geass and naruto , then i thought i should watch some asian dramas too. So, i started looking up on internet and found iris to be interesting. have recently seen bloody monday s1 and it was good. Pakistani dramas are better in emotional acting and East Asian dramas are better in detective, crime category. have a nice tv...

Stand Up!!

First one I ever ever watched. After seeing it I realized that my need for anime was pretty much gone. I figured I could find the sense of Japanese humor that anime offers, in a more mature viewing experience. Ever since I have not turned back.

First Korean Drama I watched (much like most people) was Boys Over Flowers, as I didn't really have much insight on the korean culture, such as the music and drama scene, until one of my friends suggested that I watch one litre of tears, and since then I've been addicted to K-Drama!

First Japanese Drama I watched, (and to this day is one of my favourites) was Tokyo Ghost Trip, and was then followed by Nobuta wo Produce!
Both amazing drama's with a lot of cute boys! <3

I couldn't agree more, I really don't see the attraction towards anime anymore as J-Dramas seem to cover even the most outrageous of things, whether they are funny, emotional, moving - they seem to portray characters and stories, brilliantly - It sounds really bad but I can't express how I feel when watching a drama for the first time, i swear I get withdrawal symptoms >.<

I'm glad to see someone that has pulled away from anime onto something better!

My very first Asian TV serial drama was "Women in the Sun" - Korea 2008 (aka Sisters In Love). I downloaded it in early 2009, I think, and kept it on my PC for about a year before I got around to watching it. Before I eventually watched it, I got to a seeding ratio of I think it was 4 or 5, on a 13GB torrent, and when I eventually deleted the torrent in mid-2010, my ratio was in excess of 10. That was because I wanted to ensure that other persons got the opportunity to watch that great drama.

Anyhow, after viewing that drama I was hooked. I used to watch Indian soap/serial dramas shown on ZeeTV here in the Caribbean, but after watching a few Korean, Japanese and Chinese TV serial dramas, I could no longer suffer the poorly scripted, joke-acting, and bad-English subtitle, unnecessarily long and dragged out, soaps of ZeeTV.

Since after Women in the Sun I have watched about 18 other Asian TV serial dramas, finishing the last, "Dae Jang Geum" - Korea 2003>04, last night. I also watched about 20 Asian TV movies, and am now watching my first Asian TV drama movie musical, "Perhaps Love" - Hong Kong 2005. Generally I have found the movies less satisfying than the serial dramas.

After viewing an Asian TV movie and serial drama, I rate it between 1 and 5. The movies I gave a 5 to are: Women in the Sun; Winter Sonata (Korea 2002); Shining Inheritance (Korea 2009) aka: Brilliant Legacy; Lovers in Paris (Korea 2004); Lovers in Prague (Korea 2005); and Dae Jang Geum. [I viewed all 4 of the Korean "Endless Love" serial dramas; but not the last of the 3 Korean "Lovers Trilogy" serial dramas, Lovers (Korea 2006), as yet.]

I gave 5+ to Summer Scent (Korea 2003) and Mother (Japan 2010); I considered them outstanding!

I never got past the first 2 eps of Boys Before Flowers (Korea 2009) and Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo (Japan 2010) generally because of what I considered lame, weak scripts; sorry, Boys Over Flowers fanatics. I gave a 1 to The Classic (Korea 2003), Closer To Heaven (Korea 2009), and Palwolui Christmas (Korea 1998), all movies, and primarily because the story lines were poor and bore little or no relation to the story title (frustrated expectations).

I have never been an anime fan; can't view cartoon/drawing representations of "serious" human drama !

Anyhow, this is my contribution to this forum.

Liar Game.

I came across the manga and while I was browsing the web, I found the life drama version of it. At first, the idea of having a drama, based on a manga, with breathing persons striked me as odd - but I had a lot of fun watching it, especially since the whole setting seemed to be unnaturally unreal.

Since then I've been a big fan of Liar Game and I did try to find similar ones - which proved to be difficult, if not impossible. But I fed my addiction with rather popular dramas such as Hana Yori Dango and It started with a kiss.

And now, I am here! :P

Hello, I'm new in the page even though I used to came here a lot to read information or else. I didn't know where else to let others know that I'm here (>_<)...Sorry.

The first dorama I watch, I think it was Itazura Na Kiss... I finished watching the anime, read the manga and later on I discover there was a dorama, I didn't even know what dorama really means except for being a drama itself, but didn't know what was about or anything at all. So I just tried the first episode and realized that most of the doramas (not saying all) were about anime/manga and I liked it.

Itazura Na Kiss... =).

My first jdrama was Second Chance. That's a pretty old drama with Domoto Tsuyoshi. I think I was just starting to get into jpop so I decided to give this show a chance since it was airing.

It took me a long time to finally get into kdrama. I think it was over 10 years! I finally watched my first kdrama this year. I felt like I had exhausted all of my jdrama options so I asked one of my friends if she had any kdrama suggestions. She recommended Full House so that one is my first. I'm still new to kdrama so there are still quite a few that I'd like to check out.
