I know Her from TOUCH, and then I followed Her in every dorama... my favorite is when She play in GOLD, great by playing a clumsy kind of girl :)

Yeah, It's Dansetsu no Onna. Masami took a role as a detective, she plays along with Mizobata Junpei. Looks like a midnight comedy drama.

Haven't even got to the second episode yet but the 3rd one looks really good, pics from a Mantan Web article with Masami talking about wearing wedding dresses, think that'll be the plot for that episode, my translation is probably a bit shaky, no doubt from looking at these pics!

I'm really enjoying ToshiDen. The pacing is very good and urban legends are too interesting! I can't wait for episode 3.

I'm glad Masami is coming back full force. Moteki was a really good project for her. Great job, Toho!

The drama definitely needs another season... there's just way too many urban legends left untackled in Japan. :P
That should be enough excuse, right?

in other news...
NHK to sue Kodansha for obstructing drama production just before the filming

On June 21st, it was reported that NHK has filed a lawsuit against Japan’s largest publisher Kodansha at the Tokyo District Court.

NHK planned to adapt Tsujimura Mizuki’s novel ‘Zero, Hachi, Zero, Nana.‘ into a four-episode drama starring actress Nagasawa Masami and broadcast it on BS Premium this May. The pre-production was already done, the actors were cast, the script was written by Omori Sumio, and the request for composition of the theme songs were sent out, when publisher Kodansha suddenly forced the suspension of the production.

The public broadcaster and the publisher already worked together numerous times, which makes it all the more shocking for them to end up in court over license agreements. The truth is that Kodansha wasn’t quite fond of the changes made to the story by Omori and already discussed this matter with NHK on various occasions. When discussions started to drag on forever and NHK was all set to start the filming, Kodansha said that Tsujimura herself doesn’t agree with the script and forced them to stop with the production. It was also a huge shock for all the people involved, including Nagasawa and the other actors who suddenly faced an unasked-for vacancy in their schedules.

Moreover there has never been a written agreement between the two parties about adapting this novel into a drama. However, NHK claims that Kodansha already gave their oral consent and therefore should have to pay for all the expenditures that have gone to waste by breaking this oral agreement. In total they demand a compensation of 59,800,000 Yen (745,825 USD) from the publisher.

No matter how this dispute will end, it will leave a deep crack in what was previously a good relationship between the two companies.

Nagasawa Masami, Takei Emi & Watanabe Konomi to star in new “Ghana Milk Chocolate” CM

Image

CM:
On September 3rd, Lotte revealed the new CM for their “Ghana Milk Chocolate“, which will once again star the trio of Nagasawa Masami, Takei Emi, and child actress Watanabe Konomi.

The concept of the new CM is “feeling connected, red chocolate” and therefore red is once again the main color of the new campaign.

In the CM the three of them are eating the chocolate at the same time, but it’s so delicious that “it feels like their cheeks are going to fall off.” They try to use their hands to withstand the sensation, but they eventually embrace each other at their cheeks and say, “This way, our cheeks won’t fall off~!”

Watanabe is right between the two actresses and looks so adorable that you have no choice but feel warm while watching this CM. She does look like an angel and played her role perfectly, but she still was a bit nervous before the filming.

Nagasawa talked a lot with her in order to ease her mind and always translated the explanations of the production staff into words that are easier to understand for the six year-old Watanabe. She seemed like a kind older sister throughout the whole filming. They also played cat’s cradle together during the breaks and shared some snacks.

Takei had to film the CM on a different day due to her busy schedule and so she was only given some stand to know where to fix her eyes when she’s supposed to look at Watanabe. She looked at the stand and said in a sad tone, “Konomi-chan~!” The filming also progressed smoothly for her and she visibly enjoyed the chocolate. When she was given a red towel, she even suddenly started imitating Antonio Inoki, a former professional wrestler and mixed martial artist, and his well-known catchphrase.

Nagasawa Masami's drama "Toshi Densetsu no Onna" to get a sequel!

Nagasawa Masami's drama "Toshi Densetsu no Onna", which was aired on TV Asahi during April ~ June of last year, will be getting a sequel starting in October.

"Toshi Densetsu no Onna" is a comedy mystery that features a beautiful female detective "Otonashi Tsukiko" (Nagasawa) who has an obsession with urban legends. Using her beauty and maniac point of view, she solves various unsolved cases that are somehow related to the urban legends.

The sequel will begin where Tsukiko, who went over to New York in the end of previous series, comes back to Japan, and she joins a newly created division in the Metropolitan Police Department called "Unscientific incident investigation unit ('UIU' for short)". The first episode will feature the urban legend related to Mount Fuji.

Nagasawa commented, "I can't be happier that I will be able to play the unique character 'Tsukiko' once again. I would like to do many silly things, including cosplay, this time as well."

Not only Nagasawa, but other regular cast members that include Mizobata Junpei, Takenaka Naoto, and Hirayama Hiroyuki, will also continue to make appearances in the sequel. There will be new cast members as well.

Just like the previous series, the sequel will be aired on TV Asahi's "Friday Night Drama" time slot (every Friday at 11:15 pm) starting in October.

I got the first 2 episodes subbed at Asia Torrents, they have the entire series there but only those first 2 episodes have been subbed and don't think any more are going to be available as it's been a few months since the last show was subbed. It's okay show but way too long at 70+ minutes an episode, Masami looks really darn good in the drama though.

It's okay show but way too long at 70+ minutes an episode, Masami looks really darn good in the drama though.
Thanks. No use seriously watching it then.
Since I have the RAW for all the episodes I will just watch her in it and fast forward through any scenes that she is not in. :D

In fact I batch uploaded the Chinese hard subbed "Chocolat" here:

The episodes at Asia Torrents are hard subbed over the Chinese subs, will keep my open for more subs though as I'd like to watch more of the drama.
More unbelievable Masami  today at a Alfo Romeo 4C event.

She looked like she had potential in Dragon Zakura, but in Toshi Densetsu no Onna 2, her hair's too short and she doesn't seem to have the same upside potential.
