As far as I am concerned, I am thrilled to know that Ryô Yoshimata composes the score for this new Taiga Drama. What he did on Atsuhime was fantastic, and I really hope he will surpass himself in this new project. I also hope someone will do subs for this new series but I know that such a long jidaigeki is a tremendous effort so I don't expect anything from anyone :)

Thank you so much, raven!!!

Eeek.... so Miyazawa Rie will play a 12 years old, Mizukawa Asami a 11 years old and Ueno Juri an 8 years old in Episode 4 :fear:

In the scene where Oda Nobunaga held the Horse Parade Festival in 1581, and the three Azai sisters met Hosokawa Tama (Mimura) for the first time in this Horse Parade. That's around Page 86-90 (of 320s) in the first volume of the novel.

Calculating from that, I'm glad seem like Gou's childhood will be written in a fast pace way, it makes more room for adult-Gou stories, because there are many moments I'd like to be shown in details after Gou married Tokugawa Hidetada, which weren't written in details in the novel XD

I'm also still waiting for more male cast announcement, like Ieyasu's other sons. Hidetada (Mukai Osamu) suppose to have 10 brothers, so I'm looking forward to know who will be casted as his brothers. At least his older brother, Yuki Hideyasu, had quite focus and critical moments in the novel. I hope they'll cast someone kakkoii too and have a reputable acting, for Hideyasu :P

Heehee... feel funny to read your post, coz most people here is looking forward to Ueno Juri and doubts Mukai Osamu's acting instead :P

But I have faith in both Juri and Mukai!^v^

Just that seem like Tabuchi-sensei, the scriptwriter, is a Nodame fan? Seriously, the way she writes Gou character in the novel, immediately reminds me of Nodame's angry faces XD I think it's really a character tailored for Ueno Juri, so no worries :roll
since they've chosen ueno juri to be Gou...i think she'll be fine..gonna have some faith in all the actors and actresses!!!

Thanks for the links and pics!
I'm quite satisfied with what they've done for hairstyles and outfits alone.
(Ueno Juri looks so cute with her wuxia-poi hairdo XD yeah... I know it's suppose to be that of a girl in that era.)
And I wonder what do the Japanese audience think of their initial looks so far. :scratchchin:

Ah, you're right. Come to think of it, if they're only showing two of the sisters, then they must be Chacha and Hatsu.

NHK will be releasing a CD with all the Taiga music themes untill now. Since the release date is 2011.01.12 I'll guess the Gou theme will be on it too.

This one?
水のように、しなやかで強く。
花のように、美しく一瞬でも生きていく。
「生きる」女の強さ、美しさ,はかなさ。
I attempted a translation:
Juri-chan rocks!
:whistling: ok, second try, although a bit fuzzy:
Like water, supple yet strong.
Like a flower, living for a beautiful instant.
"Live" - women's strength, beauty, ephemerality.

It might be December 18th XD That book is a compilation recap of 50 taiga dramas in 50 years.
I prefer the GOU Story Guide Book that will be released in December 31st :)

I like how Juri-chan look in that cover, she suit the Sengoku female hairstyle.

I'm sorry for my ignorance but is this taiga drama gonna be subbed by anyone? It'll be my very very first taiga coz I've never watched period japanese dramas before. And this time, it's only becoz Juri's in it that I'm interested. Still, it'll be great if it'll be subbed.

I'm guessing that someone will be recording the hardsub broadcast from KIKU-TV in Hawaii and then put up torrents here... I think that's what has been done in the past. :)

It's a pîty so few Taiga dramas are fansubbed :( Of course, the worload is tremendous, since each one is 50 ep long, but nonethe less it would be great if some serious team could envisage to take on such a project. Maybe this time the very presence of Ueno-san will be a a catalyst for some?

Possibly.

The NHK Taigas typically get hardsubbed by KIKU-TV in Hawaii and then broadcast in various cities like L.A... Hopefully someone will record them. *fingers crossed*
