This taiga is looking amazing so far. I can't believe there isn't already a thread about it, much less word of subtitles forthcoming. This place was once the Mecca for all things dorama. Does a community exist in the dark bowels of the internet somewhere? It took me an hour to find a working link to watch the raw, and had to search using the kanji (西郷どん, in case someone else is looking for it). In years past, we'd be all about a taiga, and this one's great!
If there is a secret lair, please send me a PM.
Cheers, all

Re: Segodon Taiga
Will be posting 480p RAWs at Nyaa of it if I'm able to. As I've done with Onna Joushu Naotora.

Re: [Discussion] Segodon
I tried this taiga after a long time not watching any.
I think it suffers from the same strange moralism that all other recent taiga have. Why has the protagonist these out of place modern, western values? And why is a historical character famous for being a political leader such a pure moral beacon?
Why does their Saigo Takamori care so much for a random girl that is to be taken away to be a slave? It is all so contrived. Watching this so far I have no idea why their Saigo raised to become such an influential person during an age of turmoil after starting out as a low noble. Let alone why he, out of all people, was trying to keep the samurai system intact.
So far, I find this all very unconvincing.

Hello all,
I'd like to raise a point about Segodon -- we still don't have a complete 720p batch anywhere as far as I'm aware (note: i'm talking about a single batch, not single episodes). Can anyone ask the right people to create one? Looks like some DoA final episodes are missing?
