Yeah, me too. I've tried using Google Translate to convert from Korean to Japanese and to English but that doesn't seem to work. So I have to go back to the torrent list and try to remember which ones I chose. What a bother, although I can perhaps understand if the uploader is dealing with lots of uploads on a daily basis.

yeah, it's annoying when a bunch of stuff came out and you just downloaded 5 dramas with korean names... at least romaji would be great :) no big deal though, I'm glad anyone uploads stuff :)

I have no problem with this but I'm not downloading much anyway. Just make a separate folder for every drama or show and your good to go. Or in case of one file just rename it when you add the torrent.

Changes languages?

Post by Loki520 » Oct 26th, '13, 03:37

Not sure what is going on.

I download this:

http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_141467.htm

And the first few seconds, everything is fine.

After about 10 seconds, BT shows the name has changed to some Hongul (korean) characters such as 쿠로코치 1회.avi

Also happens with KuroKochi and every other BT.

Somethings wrong, and I have no other things happen that would lead me to think it's my computer... something going on?

There's nothing wrong. It's normal for when you click on the magnet link rather than the download torrent arrows.

Clicking on one of the three download arrows will show the true torrent name.

BTW, follow this tutorial: How to rename the torrent to English before, during or after downloading

I hope this helps you.

It seriously bums me out, I don't know what is what.
Just downloaded 5 new shows and it's hard for me to search for english subs when I don't know the japanese name or romaji.
Why would you name the shows in korean when they have original japanese names?

I too am having Japanese titles changed to Korean. I have tried downloading using the download arrows as mentioned above, but clicking on any of the three loads the torrent with Korean characters rather than Japanese...odd.

There is another thread on this same topic.

http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_141637.htm

Unfortunately there is no resolution to the problem. My assumption is that the original files are being captured from a Korean source rather than a Japanese one.

Topic merged for better discussion on the matter.

@in2sky: Just follow the tutorial on how to rename torrents and there will be no fuss about Japanese or Korean names.

Note: The Koreans are doing the capturing on Japanese dramas. So it's only natural for the names to be in Korean.

If you use Transmission to download, you can right click the file name before adding it to the download list. There is an option "rename file". Just put in the Japanese or romaji name and click "rename". Then it will download as that name.

Oh. So that's why some Japanese Series are in Korean names, (especially those in format like these: Danda.Rin.E06.1280x720.mp4 ; Legal.High.2.E05.1280x720.mp4 ; Yorozu.Uranaidokoro.Onmyoya.e.Yokoso.E05.1280x720.mp4 )
Thanks for the Koreans who are ripping these series.
Just a tip for everyone, if it's a bit troublesome for you, you can organize your dramas in folders so that when you download it, you can assign the intended directory for the file in uTorrent, so you can't be confused which is which.

@Gankooyaji - Thanks for the tip about renaming in Transmission - works great! The only downside that I foresee is that trying to use the downloaded file to reseed a torrent may be problematic since the original file name is no longer present.

In uTorrent just select the torrent with Korean/Japanese name.
Press F2 and rename to whatever you want.
This will change the name in uTorrent, not the actual file name.
Another tip is to make use of Labels.
I usually download the torrent file, then open it up and specify the the folder I want to save it in.
Instead of downloading all episodes in one folder I have one for each drama.

Naming them something like this.
"- Current drama"
"Finished drama"

In that way unfinished dramas will be at the top.
I use the same naming of subtitles folders, placing them.

- Name of drama [subber]

File name

I wish fie names are in alphabet. Using native words is fine, but hard to tell what it is if they are written using native characters.

some torrents are copied from korean or japanese sites,
changing the name will create a new torrent, and split peers.

it depens from uploader if they want to create a new torrent (new batches use renmed files sometime)
