This is really, really, sad news for me.... I have been here for so many years! After I lost access to my first account I made another and started all over again here because I could not imagine D-Addicts not being a part of my life... I am sorry that the circumstances have come to this but I hope all we be well with a D-Addicts 2.0 version...

Thank you for all of the wonderful years and the great memories!!! The forum will not be the same..... (T__T)

i feel the time is changing..

i somehow knew this will going to happen sometime,
but kept hoping there`s still some time left

i feel like i have no place to go now

my adventure with drama started with this website.
tokyo love story.
still i have very ambivalent feelings about Eguchi Yosuke...

I owe You people so much.
the feeling of community, of belonging, of understanding and being understood.
sharing the adventure of reaching out to Japan

still this is my window to see way of thinking, acting and interacting of Japanese people, with their courage, love of beauty, drive to bizzareness, and so much more

somewhere on the way i fell in love and got married
still i have ambivalent feelings about my husband, but in much different way from Eguchi Yousuke;)

still there are so many things that i want to see, share, laugh about, learn...

thank You for these years, i wouldn`t do all i did without You,
i wouldn't be the person i am now without You

i would`t be able to speak Japanese without fear without You

:whistling:

even if i feel left alone now, i am glad that we met.

THANK YOU

So, what is going to happen now? Is the community going to dissapear overnight like what happened at all the major j-drama livejournals when Megaupload got taken down? No, because, thank heavens this forum is still here.

There's no reason why the major and minor uploaders can't organise something, to move all their uploads to nyaa, isohunt, mega etc to keep their files shared until somebody comes up with another way to have a site to take over the file sharing aspect of drama addicts.

This point in time is crucial, I hope all the wonderful uploaders keep the faith and files shared rather than dissapearing without a way of you all keeping in touch first.

Thank you GrimDark.
We gotta to stick together. OK no torrents but there is lifeblood in the subs section. I'm sure that lots of us come here not only for the torrents?? Look through all the different forums. There's exchange of ideas, info, jokes etc. Albeit there's no more torrents available, ask and you'll be surprised at how generous the members are to direct you if they have any info that might help. Life is not about take, take and take all the time. Those who give know what I mean.
Season greeting to one and all...

ayaayafc,

if you are new member to asiatorrents, there is a 24 hour 'wait time' for the newly listed torrents there. try downloading some torrents that are over a day old or some of the free leech (gold coin) torrents.

"User With ratio ≥ 1: No wait time
New members and users with ratio <1 have 24hr wait time on new torrents
Leecher: Download/Upload disabled"

Too bad to hear that the torrent section is closing down.
I've been here since 2007 and used d-addicts as my main source for finding torrents and fansubs.
Now that the torrent section is closed I do hope that d-addicts will still be used by the fansubbing community and that they'll keep on posting the subs to the d-addicts forum.

thx for everything!

So sad to hear torrent was closed down, this is the best site ever to dl korean drama, my passion for korean drama has die down since a lot of sites has been forcing to closed down, with Withs2 stop subbing subtitles, plus the story of korean drama isn't as good as like a few years back, so I wasn't as sad as others do.

Thank you d-addicts, everyone of you gives us a lot of pleasure, I guess we all have a great time during all those years, you will be remember by all of us even if this site doesn't exist any more, the name of d-addicts will always be remembered. Thank you to the Admins, the technical teams, all staffs of d-addicts, especially to Ruroshin, I respect your choice, it must be hard for you to close down something you started, it's like a mother has to give up her baby. Thank you again.

I am generally a Lurker looking but not talking. This does not mean that I don't care about this site. The greatest thing about this site is being able to go 'Hey that looks good' and then grab it.

The only place I have found with near the amount of choices is
Asia Torrents (https://www.asiatorrents.me/index.php) but it doesn't have the depth of this site but I will keep checking on what's new then I will do my best to find it on Asia Torrents because I don't know of anywhere else

I'm worried that the closures of torrent sites and other file shearing sites will make it harder and harder to be able to see Asian dramas. Both new and old ones. Honestly buying them is not an option when you see the prices and sometimes you just want to check them out and be able to drop them if you don't like them. Even if streaming is getting more common this days, I prefer to download them and also have a bigger supply to choose from. I would never have started to watch Asian dramas if I would not have been able to find them for free on the net. I'm prepared to pay small fees or donations to sites that are sharing dramas, but I'm not prepared to pay hundreds of dollars to buy a drama on DVD. I think both Korean and Japanese entertainment industry will loose if they are too hard on file-sharing.

OMG this is so sad. D-addicts had always been the only place for me to download Asian torrents. I agree with many people, the forum is great but d-addicts is not what it is without the torrent section. I've seen many big sites taken down lately due to copyright issues. Just because other similar sites are still working well doesn't mean they won't face copyright problems in the future. I guess the owner of this site is just taking precautions.

Thank you for the wonderful years!

Thank you Ruroshin and team. I've been coming here everyday since 03 or 04 even though I never registered and just lurked, downloaded, and seeded. This was the place where I found the first jdrama I ever saw on the International Channel, With Love, and I have been coming ever since. It's the end of an era now that the torrents are gone. Ever since you posted that the torrent section would be gone I wanted to say thank you and contemplated registering just to say that(after I tried to download as much as possible of course...and it took me just over a month...). Thanks again and I'm definitely sticking around.

I was sorting out my old files (moving from DVD to external HDs). Somehow I spoiled coffee on one of the DVDs ( D: ) and this ep22 is corrupted for good!! I have all the rest of this taiga. The torrent seems to be dead too....

I can help seeding doramas in return (or I can upload/send). I just love and treasure Taigas! And I was hoping to sub this in the near future (on my own language), I'm really sad if I don't get this file back. :(

I'm so sorry for asking in this thread. :(

Some years ago I used to be active on this site, just lurking these days but I have to give my thoughts on the recent developments.

I think the biggest asset of the site has always been the DramaWiki, Fansub-Map and a central place for fansubbers to post subtitles. While it is sad to see the torrent section go, there will be alternative ways to get video files. Knowing where to get subtitles, and what series that are currently airing is the difficult part. D-Addicts has become the default place for most fansubbers to post or announce their fansubs/subtitles, and as long as things stay like that the site will live on.

Although I was away from the download section for quite a time now, I've always used the Wiki section. It is the best and most complete database I've ever seen for dramas. Every new Taiga I should go there to see the info, cast, relation chart and kanji names. It is really very useful! I would be much more sad with the Wiki part closing down than the torrent really.

The Winter 2015 Jdrama season has started, the first season without d-a torrents. I'm curious how much of an effect the shutting down of the torrent section will have on fansubbing. I always thought the comments in the first episode of a series was a good gauge for fansubbers for whether there was interest in a series or not.

Use tosarang.net,torrentman.net or torrent82.com for korean dramas.they are korean torrenting sites so you have to search with the original korean name(hangul name)there is good seed ratio for the torrents that are old only abouth year or less. Hope you find any help in this

wow, I can't believe this... been 6 years :(
Sorry to hear about the torrents....

I just hope fansubbers will continue to be active on D-A, and this forum won't die.
I'm glad wiki is still up, but why the fansub map is down? (http://fansub.d-addicts.com/)
I believe above and having central place for fansubbers is really good source if info & collaboration.

Any alternative for getting raws?

This site won't die because the community is strong here :) It is all up to us to make it going.
There are many community sites without torrents but still thrive! So it is up to us.

I started my jdorama obsession with D-A and will continue until either I or d-a dies :P whichever comes first lol

I think a lot of us buy products from Japan and Korea because of these shows. Even though we don't get advertisements, we become curious about the performers and the cultures, and investigate for ourselves, which leads to buying things. Or to actually going to Japan or Korea because of our interests. And we develop warm feelings about those countries and a little bit of understanding about their cultures, which we communicate to other people in our own countries who might not have exposure to these programs.

Both Korea and Japan know very well that there is "soft power" in international relations as well as market share to gain by exporting their cultural products. So, they are acting foolishly by being too harsh on file-sharing.
