What are you trying to watch it with?

With VLC, you click on Video, then Subtitles Track, a screen shows you the subtitles available, click on the one you want, then on Open. It should work after that.

You can download VLC for free if you don't have it. I have found it the best and easiest to use, works with practically all files.

I checked the .srt files side by side and they are exactly the same as the ones that sang_asakura had previously linked to. They are "good enough" to watch the episodes and know what is going on.

Ok, I saw last 3 episodes with these subs, and it's not that bad. I don't feel like I didn't understand too much, more like some not too important details escaped.

I know I'm probably very late with this, but thanks to the people who found the subs for Ep. 7, 8 and 9. :)

As other people here have already mentioned, sadly the subs are far from perfect and a lot of things aren't translated... As I myself am right now searching for something to practice my Japanese with, I started to re-do the subs for Ep. 7 and right now I'm like 2/3 through.

Now, I don't know if anyone here would still be interested in this? Just a little side info, I'm in my second term at university right now (Japanese major) and I get help from an eight term friend (Japanese major). English is not my first language, but has always been a strong point of mine.

If there's someone who'd want to have these revised subs, just drop me a line here. :)

Hey guys,

thank you for your comments and encouragement. In a way it really made me happy this drama hasn't been completely forgotten yet and there's demand for continuation. I finished the subs for Ep. 7 and will probably post them in a few hours after I got sleep and could do a final QC.

Just wanted to point out that I'm always interested in what you think regarding the understanding. If there are any parts which do not make sense to you, please don't hesitate to tell me, because I think I could only learn from this.

Stay tuned for the final three episodes of Jiu!! :)

Here are the subs for episode 7.

I tried to keep all the expressions from the first six episodes as far as possible, but something might have slipped my mind.

I'll begin working on the next episode as soon as possible, but it may take a little bit longer than this one because university is sucking my time up right now. Nevertheless, I definitely intend to finish this off.

Enjoy! :)

Hey everyone,

episode 8 is finished and served. As expected, it has taken me a bit longer, but I hope that I can start working on episode 9 by the end of this week. I won't make any predictions when that one's gonna be out though.

As before, enjoy the episode and don't hesitate to leave your comments. :)

Somehow the formatting for the sub in episode 8 got jumbled together. MPC didn't like it. :unsure:

Open it in wordpad and "save as" be sure it's saved as txt file (but keep the same .srt extension) then it works fine in MPC

@Sepiroth and AsterPhoenix

Did you manage to play the video with subs with ImL0st's solution? I hope so. I tested them only with VLC as this is my standard player as a Mac user and therefore I can only say little to nothing regarding MPC. :/

@ImL0st and sang_asura

You are very much welcome. ^^ I also waited a long time for someone to finish the subs and I'm glad I can provide them to everyone now still being interested. I started working on episode 9, so stay tuned~!

@Sepiroth and AsterPhoenix
Try playing it with Media Player Classic.
Look at the bottom right (if you use Windows) where you see the clock.
If you have Windows Media Player Classic open you may see this: Image
Right-click the red square, from the menu that pop-up choose "Subtitle"
Hope it works for you.

You're welcome. What is "orin 1-2."? Sorry, I don't quite get what you mean by that...

To everyone else for whom the subs were messed up - really sorry about that. Tbh I don't have a clue what might be the reason... I did all episodes the same way and they worked fine for me with VLC. I hope the re-formatted version above has solved any problems. Thanks, ImL0st!

What I meant 'messed up" was i could not see the subs but just characters which continued till the end. But Imlost changed it to srt formats which helped very much.
'Orin Series 1-2 is just another title which I hope somebody will continue.
Koshonin 2 still has 5 episodes undone subs..just a wish list..
Thanks ...many many thanks

With characters you mean the Japanese writing? Well... glad to hear that you were able to watch it now.

Ah, I see. To be honest, I don't really have the time right now to take on another project because I'm insanely busy with university (exams coming up and in the middle of preparations for my abroad trip to Japan next year) and since I never heard of the drama, I'm not sure if I had the motivation right now. Sorry. ^^;

Thank you so much for those subs, I ended up watching with some other subs but that one had some "missing" parts, but of course it was way better than nothing.

Now I can finally understand everything. Thank you!

I just check different files from this thread.

I got problems with aegissub (some because of mac style newline and utf), but no problem with other subtitle editors. Can open them in text editor.

I watched this drama some times ago. The subtitle have missing lines, typos and some character coding errors. It is annoying.

Open the files in a text editor and save as .. with windows newline.

Yayyy....I'm not as busy as I think so this perfected sub is come out quicker than I thought.
NB: It's not my sub, I just edited the original sub from pink revolution so that can be read in the video player. and I edited some spacing mistakes n misspellings. Hope that you can enjoy the sub
