Re: 'Ai no Uta' Episode 06 Subtitles ready

Haruspex wrote:Just a quick note to let those of you who might be interested that I have attached the subtitles for Episode 06 of 'Ai no Uta' to my post on the first page. Please enjoy them.

Since Episode 07 arrives just before Thanksgiving here, I may take a little longer than normal to prepare the subtitles for that episode. Please be patient with me....

Maybe a tiny suggestion. Switch to ssa script instead of plain srt, because of support of toptitles (convenient for the japanse transcribed ep. title and occasional tl. notes).
But thanks for any effort at all of course ;)

It's a good suggestion and I could, but I create plain srt files simply because they tend to give the fewest problems to the most people. Plus, they play the best on my standalone DIVX player. However, if anyone wants to touch them up a bit for themselves by running them through another subtitle program, they are more than welcome to.

Thanks again,

Haruspex

So, I actually went and did ep01 as a test.

Looks great. You might want to wait just a bit longer though. After completing the subs for Episode 10 (which should be the final episode), I want to go back and make corrections throughout my subtitles for this series. Once I've finished (which should take a couple of weeks), I'll upload a complete package set instead of the individual files.

You could then make the changes you want using the updated set, and, when you are finished, let me know - I'll put them on the first page along with mine so users can have a choice.

Thanks,

Haruspex

Does the ep.3 sub sync to the newly posted "corrected" ep3, someone knows? I tried it and it looks like ok, but did someone watched the full episode with it?

Final Episode Subtitles for 'Ai no Uta'

Postby Haruspex » Sat Dec 17, 2005 1:52 am

I've finally completed the subtitles for the last episode of 'Ai no Uta.' You can find them on my post on the first page.

This is the first series I've managed to finish doing a subtitle set for each episode! Wow! If I ever even think about doing it again, someone please shoot me!

Anyway, it was a wonderful, wonderful series, and I hope my subs helped a few of you understand a little better what was going on in it.

My immediate plans are to do a complete review of all the subtitle sets for this series, correcting any errors I can find, and uploading a complete set then. Please look forward to that when it happens.

Thanks again for all the support you've given me, and thanks, too, to the people who created the terrific series, "Ai no Uta."

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the work you've done subbing this show. I probably would have given it a pass had the subs not been available... and I would have missed something very special.

Thanks.

I have to admit, I'm increadibly impressed by the quality of your translations. Like a professional, you go beyond the literal translation and find the exact right words in english for the situation. Thanks so much again. By the way, I'm looking forward to your future revision - it'll give me a good excuse to enjoy this series one more time :D

Finalized subtitles for 'Ai no Uta'

Postby Haruspex » Fri Dec 30, 2005 9:35 pm

Just a quick note to let those of you who might be interested that I have updated my post on the first page to include the updated/corrected/finalized subtitles for all the episodes of 'Ai no Uta.'

Some of the episodes have only minor changes, others have fairly substantial changes, so it may be worth your while to download the complete set and update your current files. (Of course, this gives you an excellent reason to watch the series all over again as well...)

I was a pleasure hearing from all of you, I was (and still am) grateful for your support and I hope I helped you enjoy this wonderful series just a little more.

Thank you all again,

Harupsex

You should be able to find the files with a quick search here at D-addicts, but I've provided a direct link here:

Looks as if all the episodes are currently being seeded, too.

You can use the Wiki to find all kinds of Info on most Drama. Here is the one for Ai no Uta.

Btw, writing in caps only is considered quite rude (writing in caps -> LIKE SCREAMING!).
