Re: People who disappear without a word...
In my case, the person who disappeared without a word was Deearhunter. He was subbing Tightrope no Onna & I was editing. He said he was studying Japanese before setting out on a bike ride the length of Japan. I have seen several YouTubes of people doing that safely, but I have always wondered if...

The wiki description doesn't indicate how funny it is, though: so corporate shenanigans, the usual Kdrama love quadrangle, but lots and lots of laughs. The trailer is quite amusing too, perhaps even more so after you've see some episodes.

I'm trying to remember which drama had a scene in which a male character found an abandoned bicycle in the shrubbery of a park, and rode it around for awhile; he had another character with him -- a girl or woman; a policeman comes by and accuses him of stealing the bike and he is warned against usin...

This drama felt as though it were based on a novel, and some of the story got trimmed. I kept waiting for more about Rio, but was left with hints rather than the complete explanation. Although he told Saki that he loved her, it felt more like he was the one who really understood how dangerous she wa...

Thank you for the link to charity ratings, bmwracer. Here is another chance to give directly to the Japan Red Cross, with matching funds, for US residents who may have hesitated because of the difficulty of bank transfers. This is copied from yesterday's Densho enewsletter: The Seattle Mariners are ...

Just checking back to say that I was wrong about some of the details I posted above. Although the Seattle internees went to Puyallup at first, the ones from the east side of Lake Washington (which would be the family in 99-nen no Ai) were sent to the Pinedale Assembly Center, near Fresno, CA which d...

I'm late to this discussion, but after watching the first 4 episodes, I have mixed feelings. These events really happened, and forcing them all onto one family and getting details wrong sort of takes away the reality. The Japanese audience probably won't pick up on the inaccuracies, but it is drivin...

There seemed to be a lot of loose ends at the finish of this drama -- or was I just not paying enough attention? Why did she go back to N Y at the end? Why did she tell Hiroshi not to wait for her this time? Can Japan just send its police off to the US for training and/or employment at will? I'd loo...

You need to be sure that the filter plugins (*.vdf) are in the Virtualdub pugins folder. You can cut and past textsub.vdf and vobsub_vd.vdf into that folder, and I think there is a way to do it automatically. I always have to look for instructions on how to do it with every upgrade, so can't tell yo...
