I had that problem too...the script thing. I don't think it affected any downloads, and I haven't seen it in awhile. I don't remember which version of Firefox I was using, but right now I'm using 1.5.0.8. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it except for on d-addicts.

I have a Toshiba too, and mine just started to get really warm again. I've already had the cooling unit and system board replaced, and it looks like I'm going to have to again.
