Hey, thanks so much to the two who answered me so quickly. I often wonder how accurate is the image of Japan I see in these doramas, so it is reassuring that I can just post in the forum with a question.

I think the series is silly, and sometimes embarrassingly so. Still, the episode about a 16-year-old coping with pregnancy had merit. I was surprised that two high school kids could so easily get into a love hotel -- does anybody know if that really is the case? None of the demerits concern me since...

New shows vs. reruns

In a single week, how many hours are telecast of new Japan-produced doramas? And, how many hours of new animes? I'm guessing that there's some period corresponding to the US "sweeps week" when networks compete to show high ratings...when is that? In "off-season," what percentage ...
