JOEY0211: Asking for where subtitles are is regarded the same as requesting for subtitles since all the available subtitles are very clearly listed on the subtitles page. The only exceptions would be jem's captures, but those are all available at jem's tracker. So if you can't find subs for a series on either of those two pages, then the subs for that probably don't exist.
Also, subtitling isn't just about translations. I'm a translator and I feel quite qualified to say that without the project coordinators, raw providers, timers, typesetters, encoders, and countless other people who also did a great part of making the subs, none of the subs would exist. In short, there are lots of ways you can help without knowing any Korean, and the best way to start would be to join a group and to become a timer.

However the DVDs provides the Chinese softsubs. I tried to rip them once to see if it was possible to use the timing. However the programm I used had problems with Chinese Characters, so I ended up with a lot of notices like "is not able to..." and a lot of squares. It was too troublesome to click "ok" for every notice I received as I had to click ok for every single line which was so annoying and took a lot of time. Since I was just curious I haven't tested any other programms yet. But I am sure that you can somehow rip the Chinese subs.
@JOEY0211
I agree with ethidda.
Also "where can i find english subs for king sejong" implies that you haven't looked around the subtitel forum or jems tracker. Meaning that you want others to do the work for you. Maybe it would be better to say sth like "I am looking for xy-drama and have looked around the subtitel index and couldn't find it. I know that it doesn't exist here then but maybe there are some subs which are not allowed to be ul here (like subs from Yes Asia etc.) That means if you are wiilling to pay. Otherwise it might be better to not ask as it sounds like you are a) too lazy to look up for yourself or b) requesting subs.

Actually I don't see that as a request so much as admitting you are being too freaking lazy to look for it yourself.
I know this might be shocking and all to you but if you type "King Sejong English Hardsubbed" into GOOGLE. The link WroW gave you is the first link to pop up. Odds are that's probably how he found it.
People seriously need to relearn of the existence of GOOGLE.

Blame the education system today. Schools are not doing their job in training their students on using the Internet effectively. Too much fricking hand-holding in this community. I even see it at my office. If it takes one or more people to constantly point another person to a resource, it just wastes valuable time. Make these people search.

Here's my take on WTF happened the last 10 years of the Internet...
When I started using the WWW some 20 years ago, there were NO search engines. But then again a list of every web page in existence fit only one HTML page. Before WWW, there was Archie. Archie was a search engine that ripped through anonymous FTP sites and created an index.
Then along came WWW. Us early adopters who were smart enough to figure out SLIP and PPP staretd using Mosaic. Before search engines, we would teach newbies to stick a dot-COM at the end of any company name (pepsi.com, apple.com, toyota.com, etc.) By the time Yahoo introduced the first wide-use search engine, just about all of us old-timers had already developed instincts and techniques that allowed us to find the things we were looking for. Matter of fact, I didn't really start using search engines until the invention of the meta search engine (remember Metacrawler???)
Then came the late 1990s. By then, the dot-com wave was in full force, and it started dragging the worst of newbies - the guys who STILL can't program VCRs - into purchasing PCs and dial-up ISPs. Computer user groups were very popular, and Internet training centers were booked weeks in advance. What came out of this were Internet users who didn't know what the hell HTTP is, but at least they knew how to get to Yahoo.
Within the last few years, there are no longer any human-to-human contact in their local communities. No more user group meetings. Internet classes are always empty. But still, the Internet user base increases. So where are these newbies learning their Internet skills? From their clueless friends!!!! Back in the day, us surfers went all over the place. Today, the Web 2.0 and social communities pretty much force these newbies into staying within these circles, and not encourage exploration of the web. When a newbie leaves his on-line social group, it is very much like he's afraid. And he should be because everyone's out to get him: phishing, malware, pedophiles.... It is like keeping your kid locked up in your home until he turns 18. And now what? Will he be able to survive the cruel world alone? Nah, he'll just run back home and forever ask mommy everything.
In short, although the Internet becomes more and more important to society, the growth is indirectly proportional to the netizen's savvyness. I remember back in college that I had to take an exam on how to do research before I could use the library. I wish ISPs would do the same.

lol @ groink.
So much drama... but this IS a drama site after all.
btw, I don't know how to program a VCR. >.> ... <.<. Now, give me a tv tuner for my pc and I can do all kinds of captures for you. (Well, that's given that I also have access to the tv station.)
@JOEY0211
I wasn't attacking you and saying that what you did was unacceptable. I was simply interpreting how others might view your post since it was clear there was a miscommunication somewhere. Communication is important in any community, and internet communities are not an exception. So, also, please don't shout at people just because you're a little frustrated. We might be too.
Is it just me, or do people generally have shorter tempers on the internet?

I can program a VCR.... I just don't have one because.... well serious who the hell actually uses one anymore? Unless you are converting file format, that is.
And I think people have shorter tempers online because people are more obviously lazy. A conversation doesn't just go away when people stop talking when it's on a forum like this.
For example in real life when someone asks a question in class you can simply assume they just didn't hear the answer the first time. However, if the teacher wrote the answer on the board and they still asked the question I'm sure most people would start to question their intelligence and/or glasses prescription.
I remember 10 years ago, when I was in elementary school, they would hand us lists of search engines and make us practice using them in computer class. Did they stop doing this? Or did they stop having computer classes?
I think I blame the parental lock down the most. All the software that keeps your kids from actually using the internet, keeps them from... well using the internet. Even without someone teaching you, as long as you don't have hyper ADD you can figure things out. It's not as easy though when your child safety features block everything but disney.com?

Getting back on-track (man did I write a ton earlier)....
Subtitle requests are actually not okay for most of us. It shows a lack of effort on the part of the requester to perform his own searching. When searching, there is a point where you must come to the realization that what you're searching for just doesn't exist. If you explain the process you went through that brought you to the point where you MUST ask, then we wouldn't have a problem with the request. But just posting the request without demonstrating some prior effort on you part doesn't sit well with the rest of us. This is even explained in the Usenet netiquette FAQ - where asking questions without demonstrating prior research is a really bad thing to do.

^maybe I got off lucky with the parental lockdown.
I never had to worry about browsing the internet and having my parents breathe down my neck or supervise which sites I can or can't log in.
What was I doing 10 years ago? Ah, I remember...it was the days when I still used those "free" internet providers that occupied my landline....ummm, 56K I think? or was it slower then? I don't remember. All I remember was that every time someone called in, my connection would break and I ended up disabling my call waiting.
Remember AOL? yea, I remember we had to pay for AOL service that cost probably as much as DSL costs today and still uses the landline 56K modem.
the internet has come a long way....using the internet 10 years ago meant meeting strangers on AOL chatrooms and checking spam mail before filters were created. And those were the days when emails were actually interesting and a person would actually enjoy spending hours writing one instead of these 30-second messages and replies one gets these days.
Programming a VCR? Sure I can....in fact, I still use one to this very day (I feed my TVB addiction by renting cassette tapes from a rental shop near my old house). If you ask me, I rather record and tape something using a VCR than a DVD recorder. Heck, I don't even have a DVD recorder. _________________ watching: Ryusei no Kizuna, Miss No Good, Bloody Monday, Room of King
