I'm trying to figure out the title of a variety / comedy show that I saw in October of 2002(!). It featured a group of male comedians who had to -- I think -- complete several tasks / endure humiliations each week.
In the episode I remember: they all had one day to learn to ice skate and then at the end of their "training" they were going to race some kids who skated regularly or played hockey or something like that.
In one of the tasks, they put a table on the middle of the ice with a bowl of ramen on it. They tied bungee cords to the comedians and attached the cords to the wall. They had to skate out to the bowl of ramen and eat from it before the bungee cord pulled them back. Naturally, they all ended up covered in ramen.
I know I'm asking the impossible here, but does this program sound remotely familiar to anyone here? It's been so long I can't even remember any of the tarento who might have been on it.

Sounds like either Downtown or Warau Inu no Bouken (aka.. Laughing Dogs, Let's go Funky Dogs... with members of Neptune, aka Nepi-League)
I miss those shows.. I lived in Japan from 2001-2003 and watched Warau Inu every thursday.

Captain Fugu,
Thanks for the reply. I knew it wasn't Neptune, and when I read your message I immediately knew it wasn't Warau Inu no Bouken either. But for some reason, reading the name "Warau Inu" suddenly made me remember that the show was "Uchimura Produce." In fact, after that, I looked it up and even the exact speed skating segment appears on a new Uchimura Produce compliation DVD which just came out in February. Synchronicity or what!
Anyway, thanks again for the reply. Somehow, by some cosmic means, it answered my question by putting me on a different track.

| well, keirin is a style of bicycle race. it seems to be a sort of variety-type tv show about bike racing. its not a sentai show.

If it is Korean, only one I can think of is MuHanDoJun (Infinity Challenge). Even then, that wouldn't add up really, because MuHan isn't that old...
Plus, that kind of shows are quite popular in Asia, so if I forgot about it, I wouldn't be surprised. After all, MC Jaesuk Yu appeared in a lot of shows.
