| I had a similar problem last week. Nothing worked until I reinstalled my media player (VLC). No problem since then.

| Be sure to copy and paste the name for the subtitle-file to rename it exactly. You might be troubled by a very small difference. _________________ Life isn''t that complicated. One sweet memory will do...

If you're on a Windows platform, open the subtitle file in Notepad. Then File->Save As.
Once in the save as dialog, there should be an option for "Encoding" at the bottom. It shows the current encoding and you can change to whatever encoding you want.
When you've chosen one, press "Save"._________________ Japan-TV Fansubs http://jtv-drama.net/

Make a Backup of your srt-file.
Open srt-file with notepad.
Choose 'SAVE AS' - it shows the dialog where(at the bottom) 'ANSI' 'UNICODE' or 'UTF-8' might be shown.
That's the coding now. Choose ANSI and save.
Check for the right suffix. _________________ Life isn''t that complicated. One sweet memory will do...

| It means you don't have the fonts to decode them. Do you have IME Support installed?

@knuts:
If your desired subtitle-file is in ANSI and a different codepage, you might encounter those troubles. I never tried this, but you could: Try opening the srt-file ONLINE with notepad. If the letters are okay, you can 'save as' . If you cannot read the letters, the subtitle-file isalready damaged because of incompatible codepages of the server/uploader.
@kdramagirl:
Do not use caps.
Ensure the identical names through copy/paste. Again watch for the suffixes.
Depending which player you use, you might have to adjust some further things. But that would require further information. _________________ Life isn''t that complicated. One sweet memory will do...
