I don't know where to post my query about uploading a certain TV series in our country. We've sub it and the first episode is finished already. It is a mid to high quality 640x480 resolution with hardsub Divx format done by our team Kabakas Fansubs.
The TV series is a tokusatsu metal heroes with certain drama spin offs. my question is.. Is this kind of TV series allowed here in D-addicts to upload in torrents..?
Possibly there would be a 50-70 episodes of this series. We are on the works on the episodes 2, and the GMA7 aired 5 episodes already..
By the way the name of the TV series is:
Zaido Pulis Pangkalawakan (Zaido Space Sheriff) Uchuu Keiji Zaido.
Length: 20 -30 mins.
Here's the sample of what it looks like, I've cut a part of it and upload it in youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIHskQ2pcv4
I've warn you that the sample is very Low Quality, but the real deal is way way better than that.. Please answer me as soon as possible, Thanks in advance.. ^_~

you should have mentioned it was a filipino drama. being from hawaii, i recognized the language.
i watched it and i was quite impressed. subs were done well, but was some of it in filipino (tagalog/ilocano)?
anyways, it's not a cartoon (anime), and has action, fantasy, and the philippines is considered an asian country. i know there's bound to be some amount of drama in there. but i also know there are some tokusatsu-type trackers out there. have you thought about uploading to one of those?
just wondering why you would like to upload here rather than to another tracker._________________ Use THUMBS UP/DOWN buttons to KEEP or DELETE posts.

I support it, but I'm a bit biased and want to start seeing tagalog dramas become a part of D-addicts.
On another note, I skimmed the video quickly and the tagalog subtitles are part of the original video to translate the dialogue of the...aliens? If the video is allowed on this tracker, might I suggest that those portions be subtitled as well? _________________ I fail...always...remember this...

The only reason I'm against non-Eastern Asian dramas being posted on D-Addicts is the tracker and bulletin board resources. Even right now, utilization is very high, and performance can be low at times. And Ruroshin has explained it numerous times that he ends up paying out of his own pocket - as both the donations and revenue from ads don't cover the expenses 100-percent. Adding new genre like Filipino content will only increase utilization (and keep in mind that I'm myself Filipino, and do watch Filipino dramas on KIKU.)
Donation page

I really don't want to toot my own horn, but I've donated several hundreds of dollars to D-Addicts to support Eastern Asian shows. If uploaders and leechers of non-Eastern Asian (BTW, I consider Singapore dramas Eastern Asian - as long as the drama uses an Eastern Asian language) content want to upload to D-Addicts, they had better start donating funds. It would be unfair IMHO for us donators to be funding content like this when people who like this stuff don't make a fair contribution.
So, my suggestion would be:
1. Have Ruroshin make the decision, but not act upon it immediately.
2. If he decides to allow Filipino content, allow him time to create a donation campaign - to allow these uploaders and leechers to build up the funding.
3. Once the funding reaches a level to Ruroshin's satisfaction, then he can start adding the infrastructure to the tracker and bulletin board.
As for tokusatsu content, it is actually allowed on D-Addicts. I've uploaded tokusatsu here before.

Hi groink!
I understand your point with regards to donation and stuff... but I don't know if I'm getting it wrong... I'm having the impression from your reply that non Eastern Asian dramas (like Fil dramas) weren't allowed to be uploaded. Is that so? Because I did check the D-Addicts Mega-FAQ but I didn't see anything that says only Eastern Asian dramas can be uploaded in the torrents (it only says "for Asian dramas"). I do understand however that the DramaWiki only contains references to Eastern Asian dramas, so I can't complain.
We at Noypi Fansubs were actually trying to decide which Fil drama to upload here, so when I came across your message I was a bit startled.
Anyway, I understand that D-Addicts is a free service and few people have been shelving off money out of their own pockets to maintain the site. But with regards to having a donation campaign for Filipino content, don't you think we should first promote Filipino content before we can actually start get donations from people for them?
And if you're concerned with the additional utilization, I guess it won't be as high as the utilization for East Asian dramas because they are something new, plus we're only uploading so little Filipino dramas. I mean, of hundreds of Korean, Chinese and Japanese dramas that are already subbed and uploaded here, we only have less than 10 Filipino dramas with subs from all known Filipino fansubbers combined.
We at Noypi only have 1, and we only finished 3 episodes as of now, Halo-halo may have 4 or 5, then let's say let's add WindGod's, 1. I'm guesstimating that Fil dramas would only eat very little part on the overall utilization.
Plus Filipino dramas are so long so we can't sub and upload new dramas quickly, and we don't have that many Filipino fansubbers at the moment. Oh... please pardon me if I appear like plugging ourselves in.
By the way, it's nice to know you're a Kababayan.

Kind of aside, but if the Phillippines aren't East Asia, what do you consider them?
Pacific Islands?
Either way, I personally don't have any issue with uploading them here, but we'd have to ask the boss about it...

A little trivia. This site was created based on a need at the time from members of the jdorama.com board so the site was intended for japanese dramas. Korean and Chinese dramas got added later when it was obvious that there was no dedicated place for them either and since I also watch these dramas I thought why not.
Now I guess we are seeing the same thing with Thai, Singapore and now filipino dramas. So in the spirit of our humble beginnings I will allow these dramas as well.
Don't worry too much about site cost, I am constantly reviewing them and making improvements to our sponsorship to make sure we can stay operational with the continued growth. I already acquired a new server which we will moving over to soon and next month I plan to acquire another one for the Wiki as well. Believe it or not the Wiki actually takes up more resources now than the forum itself! A testament to the awesome contribution of the members here.
When/if these non east asian dramas become more widespread I will make a spin off site for them.

Hmmm.. so at last we can upload to d-addicts our teleserye.. ^_^
That is good to know.. Thanks so much Ruroshin.
As for the Project of Zaido Space Sheriff we decided to delay it coz certain personal matters we have to attend to.
The good news is we now have a new project on a teleserye that will capture your attention:
Here it is:
JOAQUIN BORDADO
Origin
Based on the graphic novels of novelist Carlo J. Caparas, Joaquin Bordado was published as a serial throughout the late '70s to early '80s. This last escapade will cause him to get caught and be imprisoned for some time.
Joaquin knows that his old boss, General Russo (Eddie Garcia) will do everything to kill him since Joaquin holds vital information about the covert group. While serving time in jail, Joaquin meets a mysterious man whose body is full of tattoos.
Unknown to him, one of his fellow inmates is actually an assassin in disguise sent by General Russo to kill Joaquin. But the hero of the story won't remain dead for long. Jilco (Pen Medina), the mysterious man with tattoos, will resurrect Joaquin. The powerful tattoos are all transferred to Joaquin.
