I think you're on the right track. Maybe we should consider subbing dramas that are out on dvd just to make sure that the video quality is good. People who download get turned off when the files downloaded are less than B+ quality.

Do you know the Halo Halo Fansub group? obviously it is a Filipino fansub group. I saw their blog http://halo-halo-fansubs.blogspot.com/
and they already sub (english) May Minamahal starring Anne Curtis and Oyo Sotto and their video is HQ. but they still haven't finish subbing the drama. i think it's on hold. I don't know, mybe they're in need of members or something kasi matagal nang tapos ung drama pero na release ata nila hanggang ep 9 daw, though walang no. of episode na nilalabas d2 sa Philippines... sayang mukhang maganda eh...
Anyway ask ko lng kung alam nyo how to record a tv show? yung pano nila narerecord ung mga palabas sa tv?

but i want to point out certain things..
for subbing movies like toni's and sam, its easier to rip the subs from the vcd or dvds.
most tagalog movies are released really early and they all come with subs. just a thought because most of the tagalog films i have are subbed, which i can easily rip.
ive been meaning to do subbing too.. but to which dramas?
some .. most tagalog dramas are promising.. but they get wierd in the middle and preditable in the end... right? just me. |
ack...! why didn't i think of that??? oh well.. i guess it all comes down to subbing dramas... so what would be the best project that other sub groups haven't taken up yet? |
I understand that very well... considering that Fil dramas usually have at least 100 episodes, it would be easy for us to get drained off and drop a project if the story gets boring in the middle.
But my idea for subbing something is not because of watching it per se; we are subbing it because we want our non-Filipino speaking friends to be able to watch it and know what they think of our own dramas. I know that we would do this only during our free time, but it also takes commitment to even start on this. Remember that our feeling for a drama is subjective; even if most Filipinos may find it boring there are others (maybe non-Filipinos) who'd find it amusing.
I say that, as long as there are people who's willing to support us, let's serve them and give them the subtitles they need. I hope that we use this as our motivation for subbing.
As for the drama, I already have started downloading Marimar, and I wanted it to be my first project. However, because I'm still subbing "Ang Tanging Ina", I wanted to get help with subbing it. I already have the tools for timing, but I really need the translators and timers to do the job.
Also, I only plan to release soft subs, as I don't want to mess up with IP rights by hard-subbing them. I'm located in the Philippines so I can easily get caught, you know |
bakit di nyo try gawin na episode 1 ung one whole week dba.. hehe,, kc like in other asian drama once a week lng nila pnapalabas ung drama nila kaya for example kung meron silang 16 episodes eh tumatagal ung palabas ng 4 months... kaya parang ganon din... plus ung teleserye natin ay 30 mins lng everyday from mon-fri including na sa 30 mins ung commecials kaya maikli lang rin kung tutuusin... well wala lng, senxa na sa kadaldalan ko, wala kc magawa kaya nakiki interact me here at d-addicts w/ u, tyaka interesting mga plans nyo
