I have a question about peers/seeders.
Lets say a file has 1 (5) Peers and 2 (4) Seeders.
Can someone explain the numbers for me.
I it that the peers, currently 1 is downloading and totally 5 is downloading the file. While at the moment 2 are seeding and totally there are 4 people seeding?

Are 1 and 2 just like...stat 1 and stat 2? or line 1 and line 2? something like that. as in...
1. (5) Peers
2. (4) Seeds
From what I get, it means 5 peers (downloading and uploading what they can) and 4 seeds (just uploading to everyone, no downloading).

The numbers in parenthesis are totals. The numbers not in parentheses are peer/seeders that your client is connected to.

not an easy question to answer. there's several factors. the tracker is often in charge of assisting in helping to connect everyone, so you have to consider the rules of the tracker. but some torrent clients now give you the option in controlling who you connect to. then there's some countries that ban certain traffic, some people who ban certain ports, and firewalls that may ban your IP because there's something about it that it doesn't like.

the best thing i can suggest is to make yourself as connect-able as possible, and hope the majority will want to connect back to you.

thanks for answering. i read the thread about forwarding ports and i tried to but in the end i couldn't access the internet at all so i had to undo everything i changed. wonder what went wrong. it's like when i tried to configure my router. i can never do it altho i did everything the manual told me to do. i always have to ask a technician to do it for me. now my dad forbid me to reset the button and try it again
