I really like this drama, it was really funny. I agree with the previous poster about the other girl.

Family dramas aren't normally my favorite type of drama as they're usually quite boring, so I was a bit hesitant to check this one out. However, Bad Family is anything but boring. Throw in an engaging story, fantastic acting, endearing characters and you have yourself a winner.
Parody or Not?
One thing that crossed my mind during the closing stages of Bad Family is that the whole series seemed to play out like a parody. A very subtle and cleverly done one at that. The main story itself is actually amnesia based. There is also a terminal illness and there are numerous little things that happen like person A buying person B a mobile phone that makes me wonder whether they're making fun of typical korean dramas in a very subtle and affectionate way. Regardless of what the intentions are, it works really well, and that's all that matters to me.
You wanna smell dirt?
Bad Family is one of the best paced k-dramas I've seen so far. It doesn't fall into the 'good-at-the-start-but-dragged-near-the-end' category that I've seen far too often. Yep, no fast-forward button require here. The best part of the show though, was the character development and the acting. They were very well written and acted out so well that I just couldn't help but fall in love with each one of them. How can you not love a family that says "You wanna smell dirt" to each other? It's my favorite catch phrase of the whole series and it's the way that the characters say it is what makes it sound so funny.
Nam Sang Mi & Kim Myung Min
There are often polls and posts regarding who the best k-drama actress is, and I have never seen Nam Sang Mi's name mentioned before. Why is that? She is an amazingly talented actress. Her acting never seems forced and she just plays the role of a temperamental tomboy so convincingly. There was also a scene in episode 10 where she was infuriated with Oh Dal Gun while talking to him over the phone and you could really feel it in her tone, her breathing, expression and even a tear trickled down her face from the anger. She's definitely someone I'll be looking out for in the future. Heck, I might even reconsider watching Sweet Spy and put up with Dennis O'Neil. Oh wait, maybe not
What can I say about Kim Myung Min? This is probably one of the most impressive acting performances from an actor in a k-drama I've seen. The way he portrays a gangster with a heart is just sublime. From the funny moments to the touching ones, he seems to do it with so much ease and never really seems stretched.
The little girl who played Na Rim also did a fabulous job just as she did in Bad Housewife. Korean child actresses never ceases to amaze me. If only in Hollywood they could teach kids to act like that....
Overall
A light-hearted comedy/drama with many touching moments. A story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, excellent pacing and incredibly well acted. This is the reason why I continue watching korean dramas despite some lackluster efforts previously. It's the sort of drama that puts a big smile on your face once its all done, and perhaps most importantly, makes you appreciate your own family so much more. 8.5 out of 10.

holy crap..
I'm on episode 3 and just found out that the disgusting mandu ahjumma (Na Rim's fake grandma) is played by the same woman as the restaurant manager in My Name is Kim Sam Soon! Wow...what a great actress she must be to be able to play such different roles. _________________ Currently watching: East of Eden, Tazza, The Devili

Have you watched Jewel in the Palace? She's acting as a senior court lady. She was quite close to Jang Geum but was later expelled by the other wicked ladies.
Besides I also saw her in the recent Hello! Baby (Hello! Miss).

This drama is so good!
Nam Sang Mi has become one of my favorite actresses now. Aside from the evil Mr. Toad, I love ALL the characters. Bad Family is such a heartwarming drama with a very unique plot. It's hilarious and touching at the same time.
Not very addicting though. I guess you could consider that a good thing, but the episodes didn't leave me wanting more. I just watched this drama expecting each episode to focus on solving a different family member's personal problem. It wasn't until the last few episodes that the story really took a turn. And for that reason, Bad Family took about 3 months to finish.
Also, I didn't like the main couple. Their individual characters were great, but Kim Myung Min is 12 years older than Nam Sang Mi!!! And he looks old enough to be her uncle! Yeah, I know that's what they were going for, but their age difference was too big for my taste. I wished that in the end, they would all just be a real family. But noooooo. the uncle and niece had to get married. Thank god the drama didn't focus on their love story.
But other than that, it is a very entertaining drama and highly recommended! _________________ Currently watching: East of Eden, Tazza, The Devili

Did you know?
Originally, Han Chae Young was supposed to play the part of Kim Yang Ah...until she gave up the part and Nam Sang Mi decided to take it. I don't know about you, but I thought that was pretty funny. _________________ Currently watching: East of Eden, Tazza, The Devili
