Regatta Episode 6 English Hardsub

We're back with Episode 6 of Regatta. Things are really heating up in this episode, so you won't want to miss it!

We're introducing some new vocabulary that you may not be familiar with in this episode, so please read the notes. There's a scene where Makoto calls his dad "oyaji" and his mom "ofukuro" and we sub it as-is and explain the meaning in the notes. Many guys feel that saying "otou-san" and "okaa-san" sounds too feminine or young, so they refer to their parents as "oyaji" and "ofukuro."

You may also pick up on some "loan words" where you hear one thing, but the subtitles say something different. One that has come up throughout the series is bo-to ボート　(boat, loaned from English,) which means "to row a boat." It sounds more natural in English to say "rowing," so that's what we have been subbing throughout the series. There are some scenes in this episode where you can clearly hear the character say "bo-to," so that's what's going on. Things like this are difficult to translate sometimes, but we typically try to use the loan word whenever possible.

I am Very Happy Nemui are continuing to sub this dorama!

Once more we get to see the change in character between Yagi-san and Ma-kun. With only 3(?) episodes left I sincerely am wondering how they're going to solve this drama with a satisfactory solution... Well, I guess that's what differs american and japanese drama, one cannot see 100 miles before how it all will end.

It's in progress. There is a lot of dialog in this one, so it's taking longer than expected. I plan to get a bunch more done on the ep this weekend, so it should release soon.

The rest of the episodes are all translated (thanks Tacco and Yochan!) so the holdup is because of me. Wub
