I don't see how you can fit 6 episodes onto a single DVD, unless you mean you are burning data DVDs (just copying the AVI files to a blank DVD). That is not what I am doing. I am mastering a DVD that will play in any DVD player (not a DVD drive in a computer) and the mastering process turns the 700M avi file into a 1.1G mpeg file with selectable audio tracks (if there is more than one available) and selectable subtitle tracks. And the only reason I can even get 4 episodes onto a DVD is because I am compressing from the standard 740x480 NTSC DVD size to half that. Right on the label of the blank DVDs, it says the capacity is 120 minutes of Video, so I get twice that with compression. The DVDs I end up with have menus so I can select individual episodes, chapter points at 10 minute intervals, and the soft subs encoded as well. |
I use WINAVI to convert my avi files to DVD format and I can only convert 4 epis at 700mb into 1 dvd disc. If the files are 350mb I can fit about 5 epis to one disc. WINAVI 8.0 also has individual epis and chapter intervals selection and converts 4 epis in about 2 hours or so. I'm sure you can fit more on a disc by making a few adjustments but then you also have to consider the video quality too.
