Hey fellow addicts,

Read the FAQ and didn't see this discussed since it doesn't have to do with BT but I thought I'd give it a shot here in Tech Support.

My problem is this: I'm away at school for a Japanese program this summer and we can't use BT on our comps. I decided to try and d/l some dramas via, for example, LJ communities which upload eps and movies for members. However, due to file sizes, they have to cut the eps/movies into pieces and then offer a link to each part for download.

Now, everybody uses HJSplit to put the indiv files pieces into one file. But having a Mac I can't use HJSplit, so I checked the HJS website and did get a program that's supposed to work for Mac.

However when I d/l the individual file pieces, they are saved to my desktop as "Binary" files. I'm kind of stupid at the details of comps so, I thought it wasn't a problem and proceeded to merge all the pieces into one file using the program I downloaded.

Problem: The program then creates one large "binary" file, which when clicked on, opens in WordEdit (Mac version of Notepad) as a bunch of code.

Clearly this is a problem. I'm not sure if the files are merely getting screwed up in the download process 'cause I've got a Mac, or if I'm doing something wrong.

I figure someone else has got to have a Mac out there who can help me. Really want to keep up with the new series coming out.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for any help you can give me.
