The Handsome Siblings 2006

I don't know if anyone is interested in this series. But it is supposed to be a remake of the twin of brothers or the proud twins. They all seem to be remakes or somewhat. But just bought this one from yesasia and was wondering how many people would be interested in it. I could upload torrents and do ddl, but the ddl would be coming from a personal server, not rapidshare or megaupload stuff. anyway here is a cover and back cover of the series which i have scanned. Not sure if the series is also on d-addict in a different name either. If so i can just remove the topic Tongue

This series is so bad that I couldn't finish watching it. Wong Jing series are normally trash.

I have watched one dvd so far, and i must say that the character little fish is quite annoying. He is a freakin motor mouth, but since i bought it already, just had a thought of mind to share with people. I just hope he calms down with the talking sometime soon.

i really enjoy this show! I found it very funny and i like the range of character personalities ^_^ the fighting is also lots of fun to watch.

i don't really need to download it tho since i already have it. thanks for the offer tho ^_^

this one is quite strange. It seems to be more of a love story than based on the previous versions. I find little fish dude very annoying, other than him being motor mouth throughout every single episode, everything else is fine.

I enjoy the way he talks. it makes up for the lack of talking by his brother who basically is just there for all the female characters to swoon at his long flowing hair. between the two of them, he's the only one with personality.

that is true, but i kind of wish i hadn't bought this one. It was a waste of money for me since i am more of a martial arts fan than a love drama fan. True that it would be boring if he wasn't talking so much and his brother doesn't talk either. Well, to each director their own desires of how things play out. I probably won't be looking forward to anymore of Wong Jing series. I took a chance at it, and it's not my taste.

calling it a love drama series is really stretching it quite a bit. i wouldn't really call it a love drama series under most any circumstances. Its more a comedy action show than anything. i actually laughed when i saw you describe it as a love drama.

its a shame you don't like it, but to each their own. there is always ebay if you don't want to keep it. there are lots of people who enjoy it who would probably buy your copy.

i have no idea who Wong Jing is so i can't claim to be a fan of his. i just happen to really enjoy watching the Handsome Siblings. its one of those shows that i rewatch and show to my family and friends and they enjoyed it as well.

it did started out as comedy at the first and second episode, however the middle of the series is more of love story to me. But as you said, to each their own. I don't really use ebay, but i will prbably end up giving it to a relative to enjoy or they can do whatever else with it. I simply can't watch anymore than i already have. Makes me fall asleep every time i watch about 30 minutes into it.

What!! I like this drama very much. I don't know about any other versions of this drama, but I believe that it is really good. I recommended it to other people as well. It was funny and sad, every episode made me more and more anxious as to see the upcoming events.

I liked the beginning parts, but then when everyone started to die it got really depressing. Ultimately I wish I didn't watch it.

I would not recommend this.

Wong Jing (the director) seems to really like killing people off.

I mean I can understand some of the deaths, but there were more than a few that were just pointless.

Garh! A perfect place to rant.

I watched one of the old version three years ago this version:

And I fell in love with the characters and the story line. So, I thought, wow, a new version, I'll go watch it.

I managed to make my way through it, skimming only the last five episodes or so. And in my opinion, this is an awful show. Why?

1. Hua Wu Que in the 2006 version is somebody who never lifts his head. He appears extremely subservient and insecure.
2. Xiao Yu Er is supposed to never be serious. However, he falls in love too seriously, too quickly, and too easily... Among many other character flaws.
3. People die. And they keep on dying. And the story keeps going and you know that people keep on dying.
4. As far as I know, the book does not take place in Song Dynasty. I don't remember reading Gu Long novels that took place in any of the dynasties. That is something that Jin Yong would like to do.

And as a girl, I have to ask:

5. Why do all the women die horrible deaths? It's not just the kill, die. It's the slow-suffering or the awful betrayal.

Anyways, after I finished this, I went back and rewatched the '94 edition and felt much better. If anybody is interested, I'll upload the '94 version for comparison. That version is much better, in my opinion.

I also plan to watch the other version, filmed before the 2006 version.
