I'd vote for Kuroki Hitomi but she's not on the list or Takahashi Ai but I don't know if jpop idols appearing in a couple of dramas count Unsure

I voted for Aya Ueto, even though in my heart I'm totally and fanatically in love with Noriko-chan. Noriko-chan's an excellent singer, however she's so-so in the acting department. Aya's played a couple of roles I really admired, especially her role as Nao on Kinpachi Sensei 2002.

Honestly, I don't know too many. But of the ones I do know, my favorite is definately Matsu Takako.

Boku no sukina Nihonjin no joyuu wa Matsu Takako desu. Kanojo no dorama wa itsumo omoshiroi. Shoshite totemo kirei desu ne.

Ryoko Hirosue all the way... Her acting is superb. Her role in Summer Snow is so different from her real personality. I really like Aya in Azumi, even though the movie was wickedly bloody..

I don't know that many japanese actresses unfortunately... but from who I do know... I'd have to say... Ryoko Hirosue. Hrmm.. I know this may be age-old news, but for those fans of GTO... did you know that Nanako Matsushima and Takashi Sorimachi married?? I know everyone probably already knew ages and ages ago, but I *just* found out.. and it totally shell-shocked me. I was totally "wowowow"ing the entire time, cuz I think they look really cute together. Tongue

The only other couple I know that met from a drama and married is lee byung hyun and song hye gyo.. but they're korean. Big Smile

Any hope for adding Takeuchi Yuko?
She is still fairly new, but I think she has a very good chance of becoming the next female jdrama powerhouse. So far, I've watched her in Mukodono, Shiroi Kage, and Pride and have yet to be disappointed. She has a distinctively cute, yet NOT annoying persona on screen... Makes her stand out from most of the younger actresses, in my opinion...

Just asking because of the other starlets on the list ^_^;;;
Heh, this list could get infinitely long...esp if you start looking back on older stars like Suzuki Honami...

Sorry I dont think using a poll is practical in this thread anymore. Maybe we can just list our favorite actresses and discuss them, similar to the asian movie thread? If anyone want I can just remove the poll.

In the mean time I am replacing Rina Uchiyama with Takeuchi Yuko snce she received zero vote so far..

i'd be fine with any of these Laugh

at the moment i would vote for Yamaguchi Tomoko (played Hayama Minami in Long Vacation)... yay! But unfortunately she's not on the list. Second choice would be Matsushima Nanako or Matsu Takako...or... argh, hard decision... Too bad i can only judge from watching jdrama series. muhuhaha.
