| Honestly, in my opinion, I think that it is soooo wrong to exploit a retard like this (excuse my language, I only criticize about being PC, not actually being PC myself). But anyways, thanks once again for providing another drama!!!! _________________ If you can combine Yuko Takeuchi, Nanako Matsushima, and Takako Matsu into 1 girl, I would marry her. Or I would take them all at once - just like an all you can eat sushi bar.

what is so wrong with having a down's syndrome boy in a drama. he might be an actor for all you know. there was a British drama called Inspector Morse where the quilty lad in it was a down syndrome lad. just cos he is handicapped there is no reason why he shouldn't know the differance between make believe and normal everyday life. i think this drama will be very touching and i hope to god someone would be kind enough to translate this with English subs.
''What will life be like for a child growing up with Down syndrome?
Your child will have more opportunities than a child born with DS even five years ago. Young people with DS have shown they can excel in areas never thought possible. But in order to do this, they need the understanding and support of their communities. And as they integrate into mainstream programs, doors continue to open. We've already seen a TV series, "Life Goes On" — which starred a talented actor and actress with Down syndrome — enlighten the general public about the potential of all our children.
Two young men with DS have written a book, Count Us In: Growing Up with Down Syndrome, and impressed audiences across the country at book signings and on talk shows. A fast-paced mystery, Honor Thy Son, by Lou Shaw, features two characters with Down syndrome who are faithfully portrayed as multi-dimensional young adults. And a young man with the disorder was the winner of the 1996 Best Actor honor at Cannes.''

EDIT. for people who can't read japanese from the main link which someone else posted
''tatta hitotuno no takaramono (the only treasure)''
Slobbering over a kid with Down's Syndrome is forgotten superstar Seiko Matsuda's latest ploy to keep her name in lights, according to Shukan Jitsuwa (9/23), which adds she only got that chance because she swallowed her pride and will work for a pittance.
After a decade away from Japan's TV screens, 42-year-old Seiko returns in a starring role on NTV's "Tatta Hitotsu no Takaramono (The Only Treasure)," which will start screening in early October. The show tells the story of a mother's struggles as she raises a child with Down's Syndrome and is based on a best-selling novel. But, typical of the stir created in the Japanese media whenever Seiko's name appears, the drama has attracted plenty of criticism
