I am also using VLC player, I have always used it and it always worked fine with me! I wonder if anyone can help us out with this problem!

I used VLC player to view the episode as well, but, for me, it was as if the entive video stopped playing for a second, and then it turned on again (at the part with Doumyouji and Susumu at the park, right?). What I did was turn the subtitles track off then on again, and it seemed to work.
For anyone else who is having problems, maybe you could try this (slightly) modified version of the subtitles?
(if that's not okay to post here, I'll take it down! All I did was change what appeared to be kanji on my screen into apostrophies. All of the original credits and translations are still there.)

I don't know why but my sub don't work well, when i'm watching the ep. some sentences didn't appear T__T. i don't know what can i do!!!
i tried a lot of things and nothing T__T.
Pleease help mee!! i need watch this ep.!!

hi guys
first, THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR THE SUBS. Subbers, u guys are the best. I think for most of us, being eagerly waiting for the next episode of HYD has become a passion, and added something beautiful to our daily life. it's so good to be waiting for something so special. Moreover, waiting for the subs to come out, tha't even more special. so, we are really grateful for the good work u do subbers. RIGHT ON
second, who ever has a proeblem with the subs, i tried this. there is a slight difference in the subs' file name , which it should exactly match with the avi file name (there are underscores instead of spaces) so i renamed to match, then when openining the avi file, don't wait for VLC to open the subs, try adding it manually (browsing, adding). I did that and it worked perfectly.
i hope it works with everyone. honestly, every episode is worth watching , with the twist of Rui being in love with Makino (unlike the original manga) things are getting really exciting
