I was just wondering whether anyone has any information regarding this horror based k-drama called 'Coma' ? I've been looking around for something like this for a while now, but would like to know more about it. There is no entry at Drama-Wiki nor is there a thread about it at Soompi. I saw links over at naynay's clubbox. It's a 5-part mini-series.

I would love to find out more about it, particularly from people that have seen it. What's it about? Does it have a good atmosphere, is it scary? etc. Any information appreciated!

Thanks for that Jannah - Awesome release! I know it's been a while, but are you still power-seeding it by any chance? Smile

Also found a very well written review of Coma [Here] for those interested.

Here's a snippet:

Coma isn’t an easy series to review, mainly because it’s so spoiler intense and I have no intention to discuss it in any great detail as it would truly spoil things for the interested reader. I do hope though that I’ve made the series sound enticing enough for those reading to check it out. It appears as if it’ll be ridiculously overlooked, which would be too bad because it’s one of the better efforts that has combined horror and drama to have come out of South Korea in some time.

Nope, I don't have it on my HD anymore. But you could always request for a reseed in the Seeding & Upload Requests forum.

BTW, thanks for posting that review!

Coma is a lot like other Korean and Japanese horror movies, so if you like East Asian horror movies, then you will also like Coma. I found it very interesting because in each episode, more about the overall plot was revealed, so the drama was like those Russian dolls where you open a doll after the other and find a smaller one within until you finally end up at the core. Smile

I also would recommend this mini horror series. This is the first "East Asian" horror I've seen and enjoyed it.

umm, i was bored so i asked around. one of my friends recommended this and i'm trying to download. hopefully i can join the discussion after i finished downloading Smile. since naynay's clubbox seemed to be downloading or barely moved on some files for me, i decided to download via d-addicts instead...so it might take a while since there are only 2 seeders now...

Yeah, I don't have much else interesting to do for the moment and besides, I've been watching for 2 years now. pinch I will have to quit most of my drama-watching come July though. I'm moving to Korea and everytime I've been there so far I've had absolutely no time to watch anything because I was too busy socializing and learning the language. And since I'm actually moving there for a long time next July and won't even have a PC or a laptop, I'm likely going to quit the forum for good. So until then I'm trying to watch as much as I can. Big Smile Though I have to say that I not only watch dramas for enjoyment's sake but also to school my listening skills in Korean - being good at understanding conversational Korean will become crucial by next July.

Just finished Coma last night and honestly I wasn't expecting it to be scary at all, but boy, was I wrong! This drama is downright creepy. Not necessarily scary as in 'jump-out-of-your-chair' scary, but it has some really creepy moments that makes your skin crawl and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but crazy psychos wielding a chainsaw about to shred their victims to bits don't scare me, yet, asian women with long black hair (particularly young girls) scare the sh*t out of me! Yes, this series borrows a lot of the scare tactics from The Ring, but it's not what they did, it's how they did it. Along with the creepy, dark, blood-stained hospital corridors, and eerie ambient sounds, Coma is definitely scarier than the dozen or so horror films I've seen over the past few years.

The storyline and the way everything is presented is very original. I've actually don't think I've seen anything like it before, in terms of how the plot unfolds. I mean, when you consider that each of the 5 episodes are all based in the same time frame, it's truly amazing how they can develop the plot and reveal more each episode. Even though there are discrepancies, it's intentional because each episode is told from a different protagonists' perspective. Pure genious.

The cast did a splendid job considering they're pretty much unknown. Everything in this series - just like the storyline - seems to fit into place so well. But that is all I'm gonna say for now, you'll just have to watch it yourself. In the middle of the night. With the sound up. And the lights out. Oh, and if you can, watch it alone!

Has anyone watched this drama yet? Its short, only 5 episodes. But I loved its mix of horror and suspense. At first I was skeptical about each episode having a different director, but it works, and its interesting to see the different styles used to tell the same story. Smile
