I loved episode 11. it was really interesting. I cant wait for episode 12. Well i just wanna say THANKS! to everyone who put time and effort to sub these and stuff. I LOVE THIS DRAMA. This is really one of my favorite dramas now. THANKS again!

I use Media Player Classic to playt the files. I've never tried it in my Media Player

Hmm well i tired using it on my media player but it didnt work.
So then i tired media player classic. I tired everything, but i couldnt get the subtitles working on media player classic.

So i just used GOMplayer.

for it to work in media player classic you need
to have downloaded the real alternative codec thing =P
and uninstall realplayer after that it'll let you watch with
any of your players including windows , BS player etc =)

Translation notes:
line 101 | 00:07:15 | 大聘十二禮小聘六禮 "12 big gifts and 6 small gifts"
Here in Western culture, the bride gives dowry to the groom's familiy. In Chinese culture, it is a tradition that the groom's family sends gifts to the bride's family on a marriage proposal. The amount and size of gifts sent by the groom are usually proportional to the bride's social status. In modern day, the gifts show how much the groom values his bride (which means, the more the better, the more expensive the gifts are, the better). Thus, Xiao Shi father asks for 12 big gifts and 6 small gifts in order to let He Qun marry his daughter.

line 158 | 00:09:47 | 無風不起浪 "things don't come without a reason."
The phrase literally says, "No waves will come without the wind". You guessed it! Waves don't form unless the wind propels it (well obviously, there are other forces underwater that causes waves to form - like subduction of the ocean floor, but keep in mind this is a Chinese idiom...hahahaha). Thus, things don't happen without a reason. Instead of giving the literal translation to this line, the context of this phrase is translated.

line 558 | 00:31:45 | 什麼女人心海底針 "a girl's heart is hard to grasp" AND 我看你們男人心才是迴紋針 "I think it's a man's heart that never speaks directly!"
The literal translation to the first part is, "a woman's heart is like a needle at the bottom of the ocean". We like oceans a lot, don't we? Anyway, it's more like a needle in a haystack. And then Xiao Shi makes the following comparison, "a man's heart is like a paper clip", which simply means that men never speaks their heart directly. Again, the context is translated instead because I don't think you want to spend time trying to figure out what these Chinese idioms and analogies actually mean while you're watching the show.

line 956 | 00:50:33 | 兵來將擋水來土掩 "We'll take care of whatever that comes in our way"
Once again, the context is translated instead. This is if you REALLY want to know what this phrase means literally. The first part says, "When troops attack, the general will come shield for you". The second part says, "When water starts to flood, the mud will sink it all". hahahaha....a bit poetic.
