"classic" version
- old school setup (two announcer types lecture; short "everyday life conversations" clips)
- all people shown are Korean (as far as I can tell)
- tighter lesson focus
- Hangul lessons with writing training
- audio quality varies a lot from episode to episode
new version
- wanna be modern setup (two foreign teachers lecture, two foreign students repeat, cartoon clips with Korean? voice actors)
- all people shown are foreigners
- looser lesson focus (a lot of small talk)
- no real Hangul lessons (as far as I've seen)
- audio quality also varies but seems to be a bit better than the "classic" version
I just skipped through the first few episodes of both versions, but as someone new to the Korean language I'd say it is easier to study with the "classic" version. You have a tighter focus on the subject of the lesson and less small talk. You have native speakers instead of foreigners where you never know how good their pronunciation skills are. Pronunciation is also the reason I dislike having students "practice" in front of camera. While this can help point out difficulties in learning the language, I always tend to get distracted by the terrible pronunciation of the students just when I try hard to recall the correct one.
To sum it up: if you don't mind sounding 100% like a Korean and prefer to be also entertained check out the new version. If you are more into traditional teaching methods, check out the classic one. Or best: watch both.

this series is still airing on Arirang TV. go to www.arirang.co.kr.
the click on TV, on the Culture pulldown tab, go to Let's Speak Korea.
I think they are up to like episode 600 now. i just quickly looked at the titles, and its more than i could understand. so you would need the basics from the previous lessons.
HOWEVER, you need to login to arirang. altho, its probably free. the newer episodes are available in low/high quality for free. the older archived episodes you'll need to buy.

Just started studying with the books that go with the series, so would really appreciate a reseed here and i will help keep it up and available!
Many Thanks!
(failing that, does anyone know of an alternate site? Airirang only have the last 30 aired episodes and i need 1-80ish)
