I think most of you probably already know this. In buddhism, different gods are responsible for different things. Xiao Shi's father prays to the god and goddess of land in hope that they will protect his daughter and let her come home safely. In Chinese folklore, the god and goddess of land are responsible in reporting events happening on land and knows the location of each and every person.

line 286 | 00:17:47 | 還以為妳去浪跡天涯了呢 "And I thought you've wandered off to other parts of the world already."
This is a less used Chinese idiom. It's more often heard in dramas based in a historical time period. Simply put, it bears the meaning of escaping the world. Since it's used in modern time, it adds a sense of humor (cue: hahaha...Xiao Shi's friend is funny Blink

). In Xiao Shi's case, her friend thought that Xiao Shi might have hid herself away from the media and everyone (or escaped to some place no one knows) for not returning her calls.
